Just checking in to see how many people are predicting a dirty hit to a key Steelers player.

ViewFromVegas of AFC divisional playoffs (despite PIT-MIA still in fourth quarter): New England -14.5 vs. Houston at both Westgate and Caesars. Pittsburgh is a 2.5-point road favorite at Kansas City at the Westgate; Caesars has Pittsburgh -1.5.

So now we're concerned with rules and not the player's humanity? Got it. If Lippett develops CTE, he can be at ease knowing it was a legal hit.
That's not my point and I think you know it. Congrats on attempting to score internet points.

If the NFL wants to make that block illegal they need to do so. The players need to follow the rules the league sets. That's the difference in the 2 hits.

I'm still laughing... :)
When the gigantic Perry Hale and the huge and gritty Gordon Brown, the captain of the blues, or the almost equally stalwart Stillman slammed into the Tigers, bowling them over on all sides, Mr. Clemens made such remarks as:

"I should think they'd break every bone they ever had!"

"Those Yale men must be made of granite, like the rocks of Connecticut!"

"Those young Elis are too beefy and brawny for the Tigers."

"Well, say, this beats croquet. There's more go about it!"

"That Yale team could lick a Spanish army!"

"The country is safe when its young men show such pluck and determination as are here in evidence to-day."

I don't care about internet points. Get off your cross.

We had about a half hours worth of posts that were a mix of pointing out the hit was illegal and that it was dangerous. My points have been rules are not set in stone. 10 years ago Dupree's hit was legal until it was made a point to not be. Also, today's hit wasn't really any less dangerous than the block by Floyd. I'll go out on a limb that most people thought it was awesome, but that was just as likely to deliver a concussion as a helmet to the jaw.

The Sharps got in early. Pats up to -16.

No cross here.

My one and only point is that you cannot expect the players to do anything other than follow the rules set in front of them. I don't care what the rules said 10 years ago or what they might say in 5 years. Floyd's hit was not helmet to helmet and was completely legal. That does not mean I want the player on the receiving end of any hit to be injured or that I care any less.

I don't usually bet, but that KC line has got me thinking. What's the best site these days?

Please. If Floyd's hit was turned around and delivered from Pitt against a Patriot, it would be a constant stream of, "CHEAP SHOTS."

Uggh, another stat to scare the shit out of Pats fans. The Giants/Packers have met 7 times in the playoffs. The winner of that game has gone on to win the Super Bowl, every single fucking time.

The only game where I have no idea who is going to win. Hoping it's the Packers as the Giants actually have a defense.

Man I am beginning to not like Aaron Rodgers... "All the media was all like, man, you guys stink! How dare you say I am playing bad. We showed them!"

I wish someone in the media would say... Um... Aaron, you played very badly for over a month this year. The criticism was valid.

They will never do that to Rodgers. He is the NFL's favorite storyline.

They did it to him 6 weeks ago when they went after him and his family, wondering if family strife was the problem for Rodgers. Then he won 6 straight. So they are off that topic.
