I mean, he was clearly hurt going into the game, obviously playing anyone' hurt this week was super dumb for NEdcmissle said:And that's why you don't have indispensable players out there is games like NE/Buff week 17. I hope Gronk enjoyed his day. I did.
The calf pulled. It's not great but it could be much worse. And the fact that he was able to walk off - and yes, it was with assistance - tells me that he will recover in time for the playoffs.Greg29fan said:Rodgers is hurt, maybe bad

He had a strained calf coming into today.
Edit: carted to locker room
Not if the Lions come back.k-factory said:Rodgers gets 2 weeks to heal but that sucks for them. On another note i'm not sure he wasn't across the line of scrimmage before he tossed that.

Yeah, I thought he was grabbing higher up around his knee/hamstring
Do we owe you $10?Average Reds said:The calf pulled. It's not great but it could be much worse. And the fact that he was able to walk off - and yes, it was with assistance - tells me that he will recover in time for the playoffs.
Yet had something to play for. If anyone remember the NE/Buff game in 13 days, it will be surprising.DrewDawg said:
The difference is that Rodgers was injured coming in.
I don't see Stafford and co reaching 14 points this game.dcmissle said:Right. Here Flynn has to earn his money, with a 14 point cushion.
No arguing that it's nice to be a Pats fan, but almost every game thread tears McDaniels apart for this exact type of situation on a semi-regular basis.jercra said:In no news at all, the raiders are poorly coached. 3rd and 1, you've been gaining 3 yards on runs easily, throw a not even close bomb to thomkins. Sure is nice to be a pats fan.
Well they are the NFC team best suited to travel to Seattle if need be. If they don't have to make that trip, they may well be NFC favorites.BigSoxFan said:Everything is breaking for the Cowboys. This could be Romo's run.

Sure, but the raiders have exactly 1 first down. It's annoying when the pats do it too but there's usually a reason for it. It's criminal when you have no offense.3rd Degree said:No arguing that it's nice to be a Pats fan, but almost every game thread tears McDaniels apart for this exact type of situation on a semi-regular basis.
Packers need that bye more than ever with Rodgers' calf flaring up. Hope it's not a tear.
Isn't having no offense all the more reason to try to get a huge play when the opportunity might present itself? It might be easier for Oakland to hit on one 45-yard bomb than to grind out 3 or 4 first downs in a row, particularly against a good defense.jercra said:Sure, but the raiders have exactly 1 first down. McBride11 said:McCarthy to Flynn - Ok Flynn, here's the deal, dont do anything stupid, kneel if it if you have to, we'll rely on Stafford to win this game.
k-factory said:If by some ridiculous twist of fate, the rams held on and the lions pulled it out, the Lions would the 1 seed and Dallas the 2. GB would be the 6 seed and play round 1 on the road against Seattle. Crazy.
Not a doc. Just someone who has pulled a calf many times in the past.Bellhorn said:Do we owe you $10?

To make a tiny clarification.... There are 2 heads (medial and lateral) of the gastrocnemius muscle. Both originate above the knee.fiskful of dollars said:The gastrocnemius muscle (big muscle that is visible from the outside) originates at the femur (thigh bone) which is above the knee. The soleus (smaller, flat muscle underneath the gastrocnemius) originates along the proximal surface of the fibula at the soleal line which forms the inferior aspect of the knee. Soradsox is right as usual.
