Real question: Do draft medical workups include bone age studies? Or are disparities between chronological age and bone age too large to be meaningful at that point in development?
I have zero knowledge in this area, and actually have no idea what you are talking about. But I am quite sure that an American kid who has been scouted heavily for the past couple years - his birth certificate is sound and his age is accurate.

He's asking if there are future medical concerns for a 17 year old kid who seemingly has a developed skeletal structure five years ahead of his biological age. It's not about his birth certificate or ting his age, it's wondering if he might have orthopedic issues down the road from growing too quickly, etc. I don't think he's saying they should cut him open and count the rings.

I'll take "things that are way above our medical pay grade" for 500, Alex.

and humble.
That quote could be read another way, as him implying that the criticism is two faced in nature: people are critical of him in the media and then when they meet him they're super nice and tell him how great he is, and this dichotomy frustrates him.

He's a kid who's been shit on publicly for something that isn't even supported by unsubstantiated rumors, just vacuous innuendo. Can't blame him for either sentiment he could have intended with that quote.

Large hand size can be a sign of acromegaly but he is too young to have that.

Google a picture of Killer Kowalski, he had acromegaly that cause big hands, it's usually when HGH gets produced (or used) well into adulthood and is usually caused by a pituitary tumor. Giantism is when you over produce HGH in childhood and end up freakishly tall, but you don't get the facial deformities and over large hands.

Sorry I have to add this in

Don't all kids grow at different speeds? We all knew that kid in little league that was 6 inches taller than everyone else. Eventually it all evened out (relatively). I don't think those kids went on to have orthopedic issues.

SoSH: The place where people worry about a 17 year old kid is too well put together.

SoSH: The place where an 18 year old kid was traded in part because he was too small.

I'm an x-ray tech not a doc. A bone age study is a radiograph of at least the right hand and wrist. It's compared and matched to other images of the right hand and wrist from a book based on chronological age. The difference if any is reported.

Most likely I think there's nothing to see here (as doc noted) and I could as well be misreading Pawtucket and he wasn't concerned about future or current health concerns, I was just trying to translate for the guy that decided that starting his post with "I have zero knowledge in this area, and actually have no idea what you are talking about." was a good sign that he should keep typing and click 'post'.
