They called him down on the field. If they had kept the call on the field as-is, wouldn't the play be reviewed anyway as a turnover? Seems like Dallas was unnecessarily hosed out of a challenge / timeout.

Replay system in the playoffs ought to go well. Just pray it's not the Pats who get boned
Before the commercial they had called it a fumble. They called him down on the field.
Mike Kensil make the call?“@ProFootballTalk: ”Changing ruling on field“ = input from 345 Park Avenue? If so, I’m fine with that.”
If you have tivo, rewind. You can hear the ref announcing the call on the field was down by contact as they go into the commercial break. Before the commercial they had called it a fumble.
Todays NFL, you can't buy that kind of excitement.DEN/PIT is only game in Week 15 where both teams have a winning record.
Go back a little further. If you have tivo, rewind. You can hear the ref announcing the call on the field was down by contact as they go into the commercial break.
The initial call on the field was a fumble, the ref waved his hands and gave possession to Dallas. If you have tivo, rewind. You can hear the ref announcing the call on the field was down by contact as they go into the commercial break.
They called fumble on the field, but obviosly they conferenced because if you listen as they are going into the injury time out you can hear the ref announce they are changing the call and you hear some of the Dallas fans start to boo as they go into commercial, and then when they come back Garret is making the challenge.Go back a little further.
This has to happen. At least it should be entertaining.“@clarencehilljr: Its Kellen Moore time”
Great call.I'm switching over to the Omaha Beach scene from SPR on IFC; let me know how things work out here for the next half hour or so.
Guess he didn't get the party bus invite this time.re the non fumble" Dean Blandino is working on the cover story.
"Sugar Cane, Sugar Charlie three, say again, Dog one is open"....................................Great call.
Let us know how things work out thereI'm switching over to the Omaha Beach scene from SPR on IFC; let me know how things work out here for the next half hour or so.
what have you got against futility bowls ?This is an ugly game
Some of you guys have no idea how lucky you are that you weren't around for the late 70's, mid 80's Patriots; at this point in the season, they'd be 8-5 and we'd need Dallas to win this game, Denver to lose to Pittsburg, the Bengals to lose to Denver and the Jets to lose to the Bills in the last week of the season just to have a shot at making the playoffs. This is an ugly game

The last 15 years have been such a pleasure to watch, truly worth the nonsense from the previous 40 years or so.
True, they stunk on ice then, but as a kid, that's when I became a fan of the NFL and the Patriots with that Pat Patriot logo on the helmet and the all white uniforms.the late 70s to mid 80s was like a fucking Renaissance period compared to the late 60s to mid 70s. That may have been the the worst pro football ever.
Beyond meteor/earthquake/sinkhole, I think I might be rooting for the Broncos tomorrow. That will be very difficultI don't think I've rooted harder for the Cowboys.
