Inside Lou Gorman's Head
Thursday, 8:25 ET:

VS.

And then wait a couple days until...

Saturday, 8:25 ET

VS.

But, other than Patriots-Titans (and perhaps Panthers-Giants), we're all just biding our time until:

Sunday, 4:25 ET

VS.

Wow, these Color Rush uniforms only get worse.

Is everyone at Nike blind? Not color blind but blind in general. How does anyone look at these uniforms and say "this looks great!"

Yeah these things are awful.
Those Rams uniforms would be the ugliest I've ever seen(non-Steelers bumble bee throwback division) but they are beat out by the Bucs uniforms.

My wife just said the Bucs look like little kids wearing pajamas or onesies.

I have to agree, totally hideous.

Wow even the midfield logo is garbage. Someone in the Rams marketing department is locked in the bathroom.

If you're going to protect the QB, you've got to blow the play dead when the QB fakes the slide, as Winston did on that 3rd down play.

Of course, it ends up hurting TB in the end -- in my world, it would've been 4th and 3, and TB presumably would have kicked the FG.

Tonight's strong performance notwithstanding, the Rams have to win in Seattle next week to save Jeff Fisher's job, right?

Edit: I suppose you could argue that Sam Bradford's struggles in Philly show that Fisher has had nothing to work with at QB since he arrived. Even 7-9 (assuming a loss next week, then a win vs SF in the season finale) is arguably a good result for a team with a bottom-5 QB situation.

Man, I'm kind of surprised to see all the hate for the jerseys. I actually like the Rams's yellow. The Bucs' red I could take or leave, but in general I actually like all the color rush ones. Judging from this thread I might be the only one.

Ah, Jeff Fisher's career in a nutshell - at least, how he wants to be portrayed. He is nearly as big a fraud as Rexy. When was the last time he coached a playoff team??

Perhaps the game has passed Fisher by, but he was a good coach at one point. He won 96 games in Tennessee from 1999-2008, including 13-win and 10-win seasons with Kerry Collins and Vince Young as his primary QBs. He likely would've had 100+ wins during that 10-year span if the front office hadn't been inexcusably slow to realize that Steve McNair was washed up.

Fisher's career would be perceived much differently if Kevin Dyson made it two more feet before getting tackled. In that respect, he's the opposite of Rexy -- who would be nothing but a retread coach with an outsized mouth if he hadn't pulled off an improbable upset in Foxboro six years ago.

Fisher is 5-6 in the playoffs and has been coaching forever. Ryan is 4-2 and has been coaching since 2009. I would argue that Rex has had more postseason success than Fisher. Before they came to Foxboro and won they went into Indy and beat Manning too. And they won two games the year before that as well.

I forgot about the Jets' run in 2009, but your numbers make my point. Rexy's entire reputation rests on a few big wins early in his career. Fisher's rests on a much longer track record of success -- but that success came a long time ago, so it's fair to ask if the game has passed him by.

I mean, Rex Ryan has won 10 games once in 7 NFL seasons. Fisher has 6 10-win seasons to his credit, but none since 2008. You can make a case for Rexy as the better coach right now, but on a full-career basis it's Fisher and it's not close.

What is the long track record of success? This is his 20th full season as an NFL head coach. He has had a winning record in 6 of those 20 seasons.

Edit: and Fisher went 3-1 in the playoffs in his first playoff appearance (not much different from Rex). He has since gone 2-5. He has 2 playoff wins this century.

My point is basically they are very similar, Fisher has just been mediocre to bad for a much longer time. Fisher's reputation rests on limited success 15 years ago.

Isn't the beef with Les Snead and Fisher that they have had a huge number of early picks? They have built a good defense but for the most part they have whiffed on offensive line, WR and especially QB.

I figured out my biggest problem with color rush. It's the socks. I don't mind same colored jerseys and pants. But the unis look too monochrome with the same colored socks. For instance, if the Rams wore navy socks last night, I think that would look a hell of a lot sharper. And if the Bucs wore their dark gray socks. Etc.

I thought the same thing when I first saw some of the color rush unis online.

With same color socks and arm sleeves it is just overload. With socks and sleeves that contrast they are much more bearable.
