Phil Simms is the best. Guys that don't like him just have a lot of hate in their heart

I'm switching over to the Omaha Beach scene from SPR on IFC; let me know how things work out here for the next half hour or so.

If you have tivo, rewind. You can hear the ref announcing the call on the field was down by contact as they go into the commercial break.
The initial call on the field was a fumble, the ref waved his hands and gave possession to Dallas.

Then they changed it.

The stooges that they are.

Go back a little further.
They called fumble on the field, but obviosly they conferenced because if you listen as they are going into the injury time out you can hear the ref announce they are changing the call and you hear some of the Dallas fans start to boo as they go into commercial, and then when they come back Garret is making the challenge.

Don't be so sure. This is the Jets we're talking about.

This is an ugly game
Some of you guys have no idea how lucky you are that you weren't around for the late 70's, mid 80's Patriots; at this point in the season, they'd be 8-5 and we'd need Dallas to win this game, Denver to lose to Pittsburg, the Bengals to lose to Denver and the Jets to lose to the Bills in the last week of the season just to have a shot at making the playoffs.

The last 15 years have been such a pleasure to watch, truly worth the nonsense from the previous 40 years or so.

I just realized what the problem is with current penalty calls.

It used to be that if you were watching on TV, you either saw the interference penalty on a pass play, and if there was a flag and you didn't see a penalty you knew it was offensive holding. So viewers knew what to expect.

The advent of illegal hands to the face and defensive holding along with offensive PI being called away from the targeted receiver has turned this upside down. Now if a viewer sees a flag it's a coin flip if a big play stands or not.

Adding these penalties makes it feel random for TV viewers. Which ruins the viewing experience.

the late 70s to mid 80s was like a fucking Renaissance period compared to the late 60s to mid 70s. That may have been the the worst pro football ever.

So Cassel is totally rooting against Moore, right? He's not sitting there thinking "I hope my teammate does real well here" is he?

True, they stunk on ice then, but as a kid, that's when I became a fan of the NFL and the Patriots with that Pat Patriot logo on the helmet and the all white uniforms.

Kellen Moore is the first lefty to ever throw a pass for the Cowboys. Paul McDonald played in one game in 1986 but didn't attempt a pass.
