I watched the 49er game with an eye on the Pats game thread. About Jimmy, he looked pretty damn good. First, he’s pretty quick back there. No Russell Wilson yet, but he gets out of trouble pretty easily. I know he got hurt last year against Miami. Passing, he’s very accurate, under pressure too. He had an INT but it was a completion on which his receiver had the ball ripped out by a stronger defender. He was pretty much putting the ball in receivers’ hands, and his receivers are all JAGs, or replacement level or worse. Also, the plays being sent in were often run, run, pass, run, run, pass. Thanks a lot. Or, maybe it was a matter of the reduced playbook they’re still using with him. Not sure he had many long throws, so no conclusion on arm strength.
He’s the kind of guy you’d like to have when Tom gets to 45 and retires. Oh well. Couldn’t do it.
Edit, maybe something rubbed off from Tom: I don’t think he’ll ever be as fiery as Tom, but he looked like a budding leader and field general. Again, not another Tom, but who is? SSS of course, of course.
