If the first 10 of 15 2017 Draft picks aren't Bama and LSU defenders, something is wrong with the system.
Understandable. I just can't anymore with this school. The hypocrisy is so galling - pay victims of sexual assault by athletes to shut up, but try to look tough on sexual assault by cracking down on the powerless Band because they sing bawdy songs and used to drink beer - that I just can't. It's gone over the horizon for me; the school I loved is just a brand now, leveraged to extract maximum donation dollars under the guise of being a 501(3)c. And you know what? It made me sad, but that's life.? I've got time. Alma mater being a small eastern school, I've adopted Cal and Stanford out here. Unless they made band members into hamburger, guess I'm going to stay with my faves.
Maybe? You can still root for the football team while loathing the administratiom. I can talk to you at length about this while we watch a Brown hockey game one day.
It's not a fun process. You were probably even more invested in your undergrad institution than I was, but coming to the realization that they aren't the shining city on the hill you once perceived and considered yourself a part of was tough for me. But hell, I still root for the sports teams.Maybe?
I don't know. I'm very early in the process, and I don't really know how to deal with the emotions I'm feeling. It's like going through puberty again.
Yeah. It sucks. It was a 28-year love affair, me and Stanford - it was a pretty good run as love affairs go - and now it's over. For like six of those years it was a huge part of my identity. But all good things must come to an end, I guess? It's not a fun process. You were probably even more invested in your undergrad institution than I was, but coming to the realization that they aren't the shining city on the hill you once perceived and considered yourself a part of was tough for me. LSU is loaded on defense. If the first 10 of 15 2017 Draft picks aren't Bama and LSU defenders, something is wrong with the system.
He may have been on the phone with Irsay during that least defensive series. Good thinking.I just assumed he was trying to get the game over quickly so he could resume negotiations to coach the corpse of Andrew Luck.
The kick coverage was unforgivable. They all relaxed because the returner hesitated.
That's too bad. I didn't know that stuff was going on at Stanford. We just took a ride/walk through the campus this week, showing my wife's sister around (out from Boston).Understandable. I didn't watch the bowl game. First time in literally 30 years I didn't watch a Stanford bowl game. (I did watch the highlights; it's a process to extricate oneself from fandom, particularly when, you know, you were the actual mascot.) And it didn't hurt that much because I'm running on the fuel of self-righteous indignation. The "fuck those guys" (by which I mean the administration) inclination is really strong.
It's still a beautiful campus. Up there with UVA and Princeton, IMHO, as the most beautiful in the country. That's too bad. I didn't know that stuff was going on at Stanford. We just took a ride/walk through the campus this week, showing my wife's sister around (out from Boston).
This is essentially BB's reason for not using his TOs at the end of the Pats-'hawks Super Bowl. His perception was that Seattle was disorganized and lacksadaisical ahead of the second-and-goal play, so he just let it play out. This morning there was talk on the radio that Harbaugh should have taken his time outs on defense to give his team enough time to score at the end of the game. Obviously in hindsight that makes sense but in the moment I felt he was managing the clock fine. Why give your opponent the chance to settle in and think about their next few plays?
I don't know, what did others think on that?
There a command center option on stumbled on by accident... has 4 views going. 2 of which are permanently on each coach.I need a Saban-Kiffin cam. Get it done ESPN
Alabama seems to have these guys fall out of the sky for them every year. I can't understand how none of their running backs has been an elite player in the NFL. Derrick Henry is obviously too early to tell, but man do Nick Saban's RBs look amazing in college. That was some kind of answering drive. They just pulverized them. That was one of those "feeling pretty good huh, well we'll just break your nose with a straight right and then tell us how it feels" drives.
Rachel and Monica too. They really need Chandler and Phoebe to step up.Ross having a bad game.
