Nick Saban: "let's make sure we have 5 star players at every position and play the most boring, vanilla brand of football imaginable. We will win."

they literally do nothing to confuse the offense or the defense. I guess I wouldn't either when you are literally better at every position on both sides of the ball. But it doesn't make for a very compelling watch. When the Hurricanes were like this in their heyday, at that is only team I can compare this to, they were fun to watch and had swagger. maybe because it was new and different then. Maybe because alabama QB can't really throw pro routes yet and their offense is basically a high school offense.

I wish they would get rid of the Chick-fil-A ESPN logo from the upper left.

Chicken and peaches sounds disgusting.

The Mike Periera job. The guy who talks about penalties and calls three times a game?

I could do that job just as well. I'd fucking do it for free too. I'd just keep my cell phone charged all game, and call when you need me.

Chris Peterson is one of the few coaches in the US where I might say that Nick Saban doesn't have the edge. Let's see.
Throwing a low-percentage short out on 3rd-and-3 from midfield when down 10 in the 4th quarter didn't exactly cover himself in glory. His defense has been nails but if this were a Pats game the number of McDaniels-bashing posts would be numbering multiple dozens.

I think the posters upthread were right, the two plays where Browning lost his mind on back-to-back throws, and the first should have been intercepted and the second was, and run back for 6, were really the nail in the coffin here.

Washington needed to have their defense win them the game and have the offense not fuck anything up and get steady yardage on the ground. The defense came to play, but Browning looks like an NFL rookie back there. If they can't get a TD on this drive I'm probably turning it off and going to go make some paella for tonight.

Bama is just lethal. It may be boring to watch, but this greatness on a historical level.

Who cares if it's 4th and 13 in your own territory, you need to go for it there unless your goal is just to not get totally blown out

I guess this is what it was like with Oklahoma in the 50s, one boring team dominating CFB.

Washington played hard, but this was a huge mismatch from the start. Would love to see Washington score here and piss off Bama nation by covering (no I have no money on the game)

What is the allure of the Florida Atlantic job for Kiffin? Is he that unwanted by big programs that Kiffin wouldn't bide his time?
Boca, man, Boca

Plus he's within 75 minutes of the best skill position recruits in the country

But yes I think he's unwanted

Yes, his 3 previous coaching stints ended fairly ugly both on the field and off. I just couldn't imagine a P5 team touching him right now

Not Lynn (or Ocean Side)
They also missed a horse collar on UW, a quasi-punch from #26 on the Tide, and I don't know who #98 on Bama was that the ref cited as receiving an UC penalty. Allen was the only guy with a jersey in the 90s on that play. I believe that was Allen's second UC. If so, wouldn't that mean an automatic one-game suspension?

Edit: Not sure if that was his second. Can't rewind.

The radio guys were talking about it, saying that basically he and Saban have had enough of each other.
So he took the best job available to try to reestablish himself as a head coach.
