No way should they cut Browner.  His salary for a top 2 corner is a bargain.

If it's the only way to fit Revis in, they should absolutely do it, especially since they have so much depth at the position.

I do not get the idea of cutting/trading Browner.

Patriots have too many tall and physical cornerbacks that are signed to below market deals compared to this free agent market.

I haven't seen anything about Chris Culliver, but he's younger and better than Browner. If they could sign him with a first year cap hit under 5.5 (or w.e. it is) it could be worth pursuing. Browner has some unique traits that Culliver can't replicate though.

It's not the only way Revis can fit in.  Is it quality depth at the position? Not necessarily.

Ok, so Cut Solder instead? They need to create more space than people seem to be letting on here if they want Revis, since he won't be the last person they sign. There's also no dead money cutting Browner, unlike with all the options outside of Solder. Browner is overrated here, even if his contract is good.

Truth be told, I'd be fine cutting either if it means they can keep Revis and sign a few others to fill out the roster and sign their picks.

Saints have called around, open to shopping many of their players, source say. One notable player included: TE Jimmy Graham. For real.
Not saying I think it'll happen but Gronk and Graham in the same offense with Brady throwing to them would be the most destructive force on earth with the exception of nuclear weapons.

Drew Brees' favorite target is now a happy one.
Jimmy Graham and the New Orleans Saints reached an agreement on a four-year, $40 million contract that makes the pass-catcher the highest-paid tight end in the league, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, per a source involved in the deal. The team later confirmed that they agreed to terms on a multi-year deal.
Graham received a $12 million signing bonus and between $20 to $21 million of the deal is guaranteed, Rapoport reported. Graham will be paid $13 million -- more money than if he was ruled a wide receiver for franchise-tag purposes -- but will carry just a $4 million cap number for 2014. He will earn $21 million over the first two years of the contract and $30 million over three years.

Piecing this together:
$12M over 4 years = $3M signing bonus proration per year
$4M cap hit in 2014 means $1M in salary for 2014
$21M over first two years means $1M salary for 2014 + $12M bonus + $8M salary for 2015 --> $11M cap hit for 2015
$30M over first three years means $9M salary for 2016 --> $12M cap hit for 2016
That leaves $40M less $12M less $11M less $4M = $13M cap hit for 2017

One reason I'd be hesitant to lose Browner is that I like the toughness he brings to the defense.  I think certain players have an edge that other players feed off of.  Harrison and Seymour gave those early Super Bowl squads their identity and Browner was a big reason the defense came together last year.  If he's not back, who's left that sets that tone?

The Saints and Seahawks are trying to finalize trade Jimmy Graham and a 4th rounder for Max Unger and Seattle first rounder

I guess losing Percy Harvin and Golden Tate weren't good moves after all.  Great move for Wilson though.  I'm surprised they can make this happen under the cap.  I know Wilson's cheap now, but at some point there's a reckoning.

So trading him is also an option, no?
I believe they'd have to pick up the option first which would then go on the Pats cap.
