Colts are making moves to shore up depth. They're signing Trent Cole, and perhaps replacing the ghost of Reggie Wayne with Andre Johnson.

Edit: and the corpse of Trent Richardson with Frank Gore.

Colts remain undeterred by watching street free agents and castoffs run over them repeatedly in meaningful games, just bound and determined to keep throwing resources at fungible running backs.

Trent Cole and Andre Johnson don't really make that team any better, and I'd argue that Trent Cole makes them worse.

Frank Gore, on the other hand, can finally provide some type of ground game for them.

This is hilarious with almost 3 hours to go before the "start" of FA.

I don't see how any team gets disciplined for anything, even the Dolphins for Suh.

I dunno. If I were Detroit, I'd definitely file a complaint. Nothing to lose, potentially something to gain.

Yeah, if the NFL likes to find its one team to punish as a whipping boy for the sins of all, the Dolphins seem the most likely.

I wouldn't refer to Trent Richardson as a corpse. Corpses can go 6 feet downfield.

I agree. $114 million isn't disciplined at all.

I have heard that D. Murray is here in Jacksonville looking at real estate.

Hopefully the compensation formula for FAs lost adequately captures the value of a RB reception!

Talk this morning from Mike Reiss was that Browner fits perfectly opposite Revis, so that they could play press-man coverage. But if Revis were to leave, BB might want to change defensive scheme to something where Browner's skills had less impact

So it's either:

1--Cut Browner to have money to keep Revis
2--Cut Browner because we're losing Revis

Good to know.

From what I've heard and read, Browner's cap hit is close to bargain-ish for cornerbacks in this market.

Yeah--which is why he won't take a pay cut.

I have to think this is simply NE doing it's due diligence in case hard choices need to be made. For whatever reason, word of this diligence leaked out.
