I will give Bates credit, he's been awesome with this. A true master.BigSoxFan said:Had no idea AW had such a dynamic personality. Thanks, Spaz and Boston media.
I can't wait to see the Gameday piece on Saturday. Todd McShay is doing it and he tweeted that AW may be the most interesting person he's ever presented.BigSoxFan said:Had no idea AW had such a dynamic personality. Thanks, Spaz and Boston media.
What did Howard say?berniecarbo1 said:Thanks Spaulding. Then Howard proceeds to trash him? Just go out and kick ass. And when they call his name at the Downtown Athketic Club in 2 weeks he can turn to Howard and say "Hello neighbor!"
He says that voters only are talking about him because Petty and Manziel sucked last week. He also said if Williams is such a big Heisman candidate why wasn't he talked about? He says he's just ballot filler for voters.BoSoxFink said:What did Howard say?
Dave Stapleton said:The thing is that Howard's argument was incoherent and made no sense. It was as if he was saying since AW wasn't hyped coming into the season he isn't deserving.
BC has done a great job pumping up the resume. The stats are really telling and do a great job off muting any real argument against.
Yup. Not a bad argument. Unfortunately Howard wasn't able to articulate that one. It's not an argument that's irrefutable but Howard just made no sense.WayBackVazquez said:
The argument against is that he faced three teams that are ranked, and rushed 69 times for 257 yards with 0 TD in those games.
BigSoxFan said:Anyone who has watched BC's passing game this year would understand that 257 yards in 3 games against ranked opponents is actually a legitimate achievement. Chase Rettig has failed to reach 100 yards passing in 3 of his last 5 games. 100 yards. Basically, Andre Williams has taken a 2 win team to 7-8-9 almost by himself. Winston deserves the Heisman but if his legal problems get in the way, I don't see a better candidate than Williams.
berniecarbo1 said:Vazquez I see your point. You can't take away the 0 touchdowns. As to the rushes and yards they are a little deceiving in that the USC game screws them up a bit. If you factor that out he rushed 52 times for 219 yards. But the stats are what they are. I think they are a little misleading either way.
I'm just curious, are you a BC hater? All you seem to do is come in and bash everything about them.WayBackVazquez said:
Those aren't exactly Heisman numbers, either. And why would you take away the USC game?
He ran for 70 yards against Clemson. Robert Godhigh ran for 126; Todd Gurley 154 ;Jerome Smith 125. Some kid from the Citadel rushed for 79.
Dave Stapleton said:If you're going to play that game, Andre Williams rushed for 149 against FSU and not other TEAM has had more than 123.
AW has about 300 fewer rushing yards than McCaron passing. He's going to be in NY and BC and Addazio will reap the benefits.

I have no problem with that FYI, there are plenty of BC haters out there, I'm just mainly curious.
the reason the country heard of him is because he has averaged 300 yards for the last three weeks, and 2 of those games were against ACC teams, who while aren't great, they aren't awful either.WayBackVazquez said:Really? Really? If he doesn't put up 400 yards against NMST, the country hasn;t even heard of him.
Relax will you. I will pay up once LOI day comes.WayBackVazquez said:
I posted those numbers BECAUSE you posted that stupid PR tweet.
He played like a very average player in his games against real competition. You can have at it with your Heisman pipe dreams, I really don't care. But wy don;t you just go ahead and pay up on your recruiting bet?
BigSoxFan said:Yup. Because New Mexico State was his only monster game. Your posts have gotten progressively dumber. I'm impressed.

Your viewpoint is duly noted. Thanks for stopping by. Now fuck off. Andre isn't going to win the Heisman but we appreciate you shitting on the fun for fans of a program that has been miserable for the last 4-5 years. I guess that's all that a Michigan football fan can do these days.

Stop being a little bitch. Nobody had heard of him before that game. Please find me one national website that mentioned him as a candidate before that game. He's being mentioned as a candidate because he leads the nation in rushing yardage. If he puts up 150 or 200 instead of 400 against that puke team, he's still not even close.
Here's SI's Hesiman watch on November 4:
His Heisman push has been made against New Mexico State, NC State, and Maryland. That's just how it is.

I don't understand what your argument is - that he isn't a candidate for the Heisman or he shouldn't be.
