Thiago has the look on his face. He knows they were shit in the second half and they’re lucky to be getting on the bus with three points

I interpreted that as “The only reason this team isn’t complete garbage that lost to Luton is because of me.”

With Doucoure still out, Everton go 5 at the back at Molineux today. Michael Keane. 89 minutes of solid defending and one hideous fuckup. Always.

KDB looking good with his new haircut. Used the time off for a glow up?

looks like Hodgson could be sacked if they lose...definitely not a good look after their move forward from Viera was back to the past that only lasted one year

Our spacing is crap. Attackers don’t have a feel for their lanes. If Myko & Patterson are supposed to get forward like wing backs then Harrison and McNeil need to get more central but it’s all a clown car right now

Everton are compressing well and staying organized in defense, but there’s acres of space in the midfield. Not sure if Dyche can maintain this shape for long.

Apropos of nothing, my 13 year old and I hopped in a pick up match yesterday. Another dad was there with 2 teen boys and an 8 year old daughter. That girl was monster. She scored several, set up more, and had the ball glued to her foot. It was like a movie Nickelodeon show where kids embarrass adults for laughs. Wish I had gotten her autograph because she’ll be wearing a US jersey soon enough.

Wolves get a garbage goal off a corner. They’ve been rampant. In the absence of Doucoure we’ve gone 5 at the back with Keane and it’s been poor. No one knows their jobs.

I think he probably knew he was offside - certainly didn’t seem to give it much of an effort - or completely lacking in confidence?
Confidence is terrible. He had a nice goal against Spurs waved off but otherwise he hadn’t gone close. Scuffling badly.

Even keeping himself onside is Striker 101, it was a beautiful through ball and he could have stayed inside with a bit of perception and application

Everton have been really sloppy this half.

Oh DCL...blushes saved by the late off-side.
We battered Spurs after being down two goals and ever Spurs fan I’ve seen has admitted that Everton should have got something. Came out on the front foot against City, were really taking the game to them andCity were not relishing it, went up a goal, then Foden hit a beauty, a dubious handball pen and that was that, you need to ride your luck and get all the breaks to beat the best snd we didn’t. So two losses but spirited performances, not moral victory kind of things but good team losing after a rock fight eith snothet good team.

Festive period. We are just not deep enough to have this be our third game in seven days. We’re leggy and sloppy. Playing the unfamiliar formation doesn’t help. Wolves have not been great themselves so I can hope we can nick one snd get out with a point, but tbh with Foucoure out we don’t have the depth.

I hear you mate. Some tired bodies out there. But Wolves aren't playing them off the park and I can see Everton sneaking a point if they can find a bit of quality. Or a bit of luck.

Just waltzed between 2 defenders. Easy.

the 3-4-3 is so demanding on the wingbacks and there the whole shape got stretched because of a lost 1v1.

@OCST - how old is Tarkovsky ? He seems heir apparent for the James Milner Veteran Warrior role.

I love watching him and have always hoped he’d end up across Stanley Park with the Reds.
Turned 30 last season iirc. Should’ve been tapped for England in Qatar imo.

Forest strike in 62nd minute, up 1-0 on ManU. If it holds ManU will be 9 points out of top 4 at end of 2023, despite playing one more game than most teams ahead of them.

And then he makes a nice stop and NF scores on the counterattack.
Turner is happiest guy in town right now.
