Even more details about the Iginla thing last year. Feaster says he negotiated in good faith with Chia and that he had a deal and he had been told there were 4 teams that were acceptable. He called Iginlas agent and told him they reached a dealand the agent said you may have a deal but we don't have a deal. Iginla really does come off like a jackass in that whole situation, but whatever.

Water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. He learned his lesson.

@DarrenDreger: @TSNBobMcKenzie Multiple draft picks included in the bid for St Louis, including a 1st round pick. Rangers are getting creative in the quest
Tossing in firsts doesn't reek of creativity. Maybe it means the talks are moving off a Callahan-MSL swap.

Edit: Guess it has to mean no Callahan unless some picks are going both ways.

It was worth it to hear Wardo immediately shoot it down as sheer idiocy.

All the hype around Vanek last night and then once the games started everything went silent and have heard nothing about him since.

Damn, that HFBoards is truly a shitshow.  At least 95% of the posts would not be tolerated here.

it is utter crap. The only reason I even go there is because if you're looking for breaking news they are quicker about breaking that than anywhere else when it comes to hockey. Otherwise, it's a complete shitshow

right here
It's probably been 3 years since I've been over there. Just soooo much volume.

The 5% would certainly be welcomed here though...

Looks like Conacher is indeed gonna get claimed by Buffalo (that's his brother)

Pretty surreal that St. Louis would be so slighted at being off the original roster. Needless to say, I can't blame Yzerman for indeed trading him if he thinks he was entitled to an Olympic spot. He gets good value for a 38 year old with 1 year left, and Callahan + Stamkos coming back makes MSL not a huge loss this year.

Done deal. If it's Callahan, a 1st and 2nd for the Rangers, I'm not a fan of it for the Rags. That's a lot to give up when they had a ton of leverage because Marty wouldn't approve any other destination.

That's where I'm at. Other lauding Sather for some reason.

Pickpockets common around MSG. Glen Sather learned from the best.

Callahan wants $6m. MSL is a lot better and is signed through next year too. Picks make it close but I like the NYR side. Definitely better than getting nothing for Callahan in a few months.

Fluto must be suffering from some sort of temporary brain damage. That deal is a heist for TB.

Seems pretty win-win to me.

Rangers give up a 1st and 2nd rounder for a significant upgrade this year, and they get the player next season too.

TB picks up 2 pretty good draft picks, gets a good player back to replace a very unhappy better player.  But it's still a rental.

Not really sure what to think. Part of me is convinced that Callahan has been overhyped by the NY media machine (shocking I know).

But at the same time how often do you see a contending team deal their captain during the season? This has the potential of blowing up big time for NY.

NYR had leverage in that St Louis only wanted to go there, but TB had the benefit of Callahan not yet agreeing to an extension.

Edit: Just saw if they make the ECF they lose two 1sts, which is kind of a lot. Not sure why they had to include that.

Double edit: I'm tired. Got the direction of the picks confused. Point still stands that the '15 NYR pick isn't likely to be very high, but I don't like the deal for NY if they end up losing both their '14 and '15 picks.

Also I don't think there's a great chance the TBL pick will be in the top 10 or even 15 unless Bishop turns into a zero, making that less valuable. Team is set up pretty well.

The pick is going to TBL not from TBL.  Not only that but it is a 2015 first which is a draft that has been hyped for the last 3 years.  NYR are a King Henry injury from making the lottery next year.  This was a no-brainer trade for TBL.  You have to assume there is zero chance TB signs Callahan if it means they don't get to keep the NYR 1st.  Would make sense to flip him for more picks/ young players at this point.

What does everybody think about that potential MSL-Callahan deal?  It seems to me that TB would get the upper hand because of the picks.  MSL-for-Callahan is a win for NYR, but a 1st and a 2nd is a lot.
I agree. That extra price for just one more guranteed year of MSL (@ 39 y.o.) seems a bit steep. But I'm always willing to cheer a risky move by the Rangers.

Haggs says "Bruins source" says Loui won't be traded. To the shock of basically no one.

Considering Jimmy Murphy continues to say it's 50/50, including live on air with Gresch and Zo, it probably needed to be said so people can continue to make the informed decision to unfollow Murphy.

I love Burke, I hope he's in the league forever.

edit: Murphy is such a goddamn clown, 50/50? So he either will or won't get traded? Piss off.
