It's too bad KC/Baltimore can't be the World Series. They're the 2 most exciting teams right now
Cardinals though, takes a wooden stake through the heart to kill them. The Red Sox run last year continues to amaze.

Yeah, it's not always the manager. It's Clayton Kershaw. He was cruising. He's had one and a half real bad innings all year. Lefties in the line up and he's still throwing strikes. No walk. No hit by pitch. The Cardinals just beat him.

Indeed. 6 hits in 8 at bats. Granted, a few were grounded through the infield but none of them were cheapies. He was dealing and then he got whomped. It's on him, not Mattingly.

I want the Cardinals to lose more than any other team in the playoffs

As a Yankees fan, the Card's have shown me how it feels to be on the outside

I, sir, concur with your assessment. All this Baltimore hate is hilarious to me. People are shocked a team that sucked for 20 years lost a lot of their fans and now they are back b/c the team is in the playoffs? YE GODS, that has never happened before. Anywhere.

Better get some silver bullets too then. Ah, it's early. Greinke goes next. He's pretty good. I'll echo above that a Giants - Dodgers ALCS would be fun, which means Cards out. The Nats feel like a sleeper even with the best NL record.

Now that's some stat on Kershaw. First pitcher to EVER give up 7 runs in consecutive postseason starts. That's amazing.

Yeah, even the Yankees had nobody in 1991. We would by cheap seats and move to the box seats. We got caught by a security guard, who after looking at our stubs said "You should be up there", then walked away.

That was in the first inning of a double header. Think about that, he knew the chances of someone coming to claim their seats were so small, that he didn't bother to kick us out of them.

And no one ever did

Why do you act like the universe is screwing you over? It's called the internet, look it up. Jesus, it took me less than 3 minutes to go CBS, see that the game was on Fox1, and then go to Time Warner's channel lookup and finding the channel. Done.

So many sporting events are on different channels these days. You act like it's an affront to your world. Tighten up.
Hey John. If you have such a problem with my gripe in a game thread why don't you just ignore it? You always seem so pissed off at the world. Just shut the fuck up already.

Kershaw has more ER tonight than Sandy Koufax had in his post-season career. If the Cardinals hold on Clayton's got some atoning to do.

Harold Reynolds deep thoughts. "I think it's the heat, when it's hot out, hitters want to hit."

Is that all? You just have to want it? Got it.

In coastal California, September and October are usually hotter than June-August.

Honestly, part of the reason I hate the Cardinals so much is my Cardinal fan friends.  Being in the military, I meet and become friends with people from all sorts of fan bases, and for some reason the Cardinals turn otherwise reasonable people into complete and utter D-bags when they start talking about baseball.  I mean, Yankee fans don't even come close to being as obnoxious as Cardinal fans... at least I can have a decent baseball conversation with most of them.

If I had to choose, I would love to see KC win, just because they are fun to watch.  The Nats would be my second choice, as the team has grown on me over the last couple years, and I really enjoy watching a lot of their guys play.

The Orioles, believe it or not, would probably be my third choice.  Yeah, Buck is a tool, but Adam Jones is one of the most fun players in the game, their bullpen is electric, and guys like JJ Hardy have quietly put up pretty good, workmanlike careers.  Sure, Cruz is probably still on PED's, but he put up 40 HR's for my fantasy team this year, so I can forgive him (and, to be honest, I never really cared about the PED issue as much as a lot of other people did).

Edit: I quoted the wrong post, but I don't feel like fixing it

It's unseasonably hot in California. The teams are scoring. Reynolds is a stupid human, so he assumes they are related. If it were raining frogs he would think they are related. Anything more than simple straight lines requires brain wattage he does not have.

He only needs to see offensive ranking for Texas and Houston to know heat doesn't help you hit ;)

Harold Reynolds just said that scoring is up in the postseason because of bunting and moving runners over.

OK, I just missed almost all of the Dodgers-Cards game. I bet I'm not the only one who didn't know the games were on channels beyond TBS and Fox regular.

Sorry, I'll try to make it more clear when I post the SP match ups tomorrow.

That's not fair. In Harold's defense he later added "mentality" and "higher stakes."
