They forgot "dirtiest" and "floppiest".
About 5 more of those, and I'll be content.
Yup, it's sad. People really over-agonized about that trade; I thought it was a fist-pump. The last time I felt like that was getting off IT right before his body completely fell apart.Unfortunately just seems like this is who TL is going forward…

Golden State and Cleveland are inaugural members of the National Kickball League.

I'm glad for Rob that he was able to lock in life-changing money before that first knee injury.
I think that there's a difference between bad/contributes nothing and bad/at least takes the ball away sometimes. Not to hump AI here, but to me defensive impact of guys who at least take the ball away gets reflected in the numbers a bit. Yes, he was bad. But on a continuum there's a big difference between Dame/Trae bad and say LaVine/Booker/Rozier bad. Maybe he would have been worse on teams that couldn't hide him as much. Hard to say with the difference in era too.Iverson was a lousy defender even by his own admission.
I think the way offenses now attack weak defensive players is very different than 20 years ago. For starters, you have way more offensively skilled players, go back to 2000 and watch a game and just see how many people are on the floor that just can't really do anything on offense. And in the matchup-hunting style now, I think it's way more destructive to have a Trae-level defender on the floor than it would have been during Iverson's prime.I think that there's a difference between bad/contributes nothing and bad/at least takes the ball away sometimes. Do people realize that AI was named Big East defensive player of the year?I think that there's a difference between bad/contributes nothing and bad/at least takes the ball away sometimes. That's such an incredible bummer. For my money, he was the 3rd most exciting Celtic to watch over the last decade (after IT and Tatum), and it truly sucks that injuries are going to keep him from his ceiling.
Isn’t it his other knee, though?Poor TImelord, what a bummer.
He may have been "injured" against the Grizzlies (I didnt see it), but this may just be progressive cartilage loss and arthritis as the main underlying issue. Might be headed for a Lonzo Ball style osteochondral transplant, who knows.
Portland must have known he was semi-damaged goods and still OK rolling the dice. I'm not sure how much value he had in the grand scheme of things compared to the picks and Brogdon/whatever picks Brogdon will fetch.
Oh interesting, I didn't even look I just assumed it was the same knee, good call.Isn’t it his other knee, though?
That was my first thought, and it seriously bummed me out.Having said that, on the flip side, now maybe he's got 2 bad knees instead of 1....
I was watching the game online to follow Dayton grad Toumani Camara. It really was just a knee bump, but Rob seemed to know it was bad immediately. The Blazers played 4 on 5 until they could foul someone to stop play. Timelord headed straight to the locker-room.So he supposedly injured it banging knees, now needs surgery. What would that be? MCL tear?
He wouldn't need surgery for an isolated MCL tear.So he supposedly injured it banging knees, now needs surgery. What would that be? MCL tear?
SucksNew tweet from Chams with "bone and ligament damage" talk. Possible major surgery vs a clean up.
Hard to know what to make of that, though if he banged knees might be a transient patellar dislocation... often knock off some cartilage and tear your medial patellofemoral ligament.
What a bummer.
Technically Gallinari and Muscala are Wizards. Brad is a shark.Brad is a wizard
That sucks. I'd be more worried about the bone/cartilage stuff than the ligament piece there. Sounds like a future of knee swelling/soreness. Fuck.New tweet from Chams with "bone and ligament damage" talk. Possible major surgery vs a clean up.

That's how I did my PCL eons ago. Straight on direct blunt force. I winced just now thinking about it.So he supposedly injured it banging knees, now needs surgery. What would that be? MCL tear?
Yeah, having a player make the leap, as Ant is doing, completely changes a team's trajectory.Twolves look legit. If they can still spin KAT off for an all-star level player that plays defense, they can contend for a title now.
I enjoy an elaborate setup and punchline.Anyway for some reason this came to mind during the fourth quarter of tonight’s Clippers game.
Gotta think neutral to slightly negative value at 4/$220M after this season, with his injury history, body type, and question marks about his defense and general commitment to winning. Hard to think of too many teams that would be hot to take on that contract, or of comparable players on bloated ~$55M deals who he could be traded for.Yeah, having a player make the leap, as Ant is doing, completely changes a team's trajectory.
I wonder what trade value Towns still has.
On a present day basis, you're probably correct but in terms of future value, if MIN wanted to dump KAT, they'd get some value for him because teams are always wiling to take a chance on talent and KAT has that in spades.Gotta think neutral to slightly negative value at 4/$220M after this season, with his injury history, body type, and question marks about his defense and general commitment to winning. At first I thought this was a post about the Utah Jazz and I was like man what a loserIn my mid-20s, I was a crazy jazz fan
What does a KAT/Randle trade look like? Two guys who would probably be best served by a change of scenery with Randle being the better skillset fit next to Gobert. The problem is that MIN actually wants to be good and dealing KAT is going to be a present-day downgrade in all likelihood.
You think Thibs is going to go for a second helping of KAT?What does a KAT/Randle trade look like? Two guys who would probably be best served by a change of scenery with Randle being the better skillset fit next to Gobert. "Who says no?" -BS
Agreed with most of this (it's especially fun seeing Hachimura turn back into the player he was for the first 90% of his career), but Russell has been terrible this year. He's basically the same guy he's been for his whole career, but shooting .279 from 3. His net rating looks pretty good (+7.4 per 100), but that's only because him and Lebron play more minutes together than any other duo on the Lakers, and the third highest duo is Russell and Davis (82% of his minutes have been with Lebron and 76% of his minutes have been with Davis). He talked before the year about wanting to play like Derrick White, but if he actually played like White, the Lakers would be title ready.I think the Lakers are on the path to being in need of another mid-season shakeup because I don't think they are very good.
They currently rank 25th in Offensive Rating and are 29th in 3pt%, and that is with both LeBron and Davis playing a ton of minutes. The rest of the lineup is pretty questionable. Reaves was a good player when people didn't take this random white guy seriously, but as the third option on a supposed title contender, I think he is miscast in that role. D'lo is D'lo, even though he has been kind of good this season. Cam Reddish is seeing major minutes. Christian Wood isn't a winning player. Hachimura has turned back into a pumpkin. Max Christie. I think Ham will be the first to go if things don't turn around, but other than that I don't see a ton of options for them.
That's what I thought at first, then I realized he was talking about jazz music and I thought maybe he posted in the wrong forum. Then I got to the end and was like huh, then I thought about it, and was like, fuck, thats pretty damn perfect. At first I thought this was a post about the Utah Jazz and I was like man what a loser

Randle is probably the best like-for-like tradeWhat does a KAT/Randle trade look like? Two guys who would probably be best served by a change of scenery with Randle being the better skillset fit next to Gobert. "Who says no?" -BS
The LaVine one is intriguing as Chicago has to break up that gang. What a difference without Ball orchestrating that group.Randle is probably the best like-for-like trade
but I've rounded up some of the usual suspects of varying degrees:
Markkanen, Ingram, Lavine, Siakam, Tobias Harris+++, Herro+++
