What's everyone's obsession with blaming the players OR the coach? Here and on twitter.

It's pretty clear they both shit the bed in this series.

Honestly Joe has a much better excuse than the players. He has a terrible JV assistant coaching staff and it's his first season.

Tatum, Brown, Horford, Smart, etc all have A TON of experience. The way they have played is legitimately crazy bad, to the point you have to wonder if there is some unknown thing going on beneath the surface.

No coach, no matter how bad, can submarine an experienced team this much on his own. It's impossible.
I mean really the blame is with Brad here. Letting this coach with this staff run the show is a huge mistake. And as for Brad, his deadline move is Muscala? We never had a 3rd option at big with 90 year old Al Horford and glass knee Rob Williams as the first two. Not a good showing.

This was about as pathetic a display as humanly possible.

They can't keep this team together next year, it has to be stripped down. Smart and JB are gonna be gone.

If you thought they didn't play any defense tonight, wait until they get down by 5 on Tuesday night and totally stop playing.

Man, this fucking Spring playoff season sucked.

And we won't even get an entertaining finals. That is when I am sure that their collective 3 point shooting will go back in the toilet, and Jokic will pick them apart like an overcooked chicken.

Fuck goddammit fuck.

Because blaming the coach, who people have no connection to, and who is easily replaced with money doesn't make people confront the question of whether the core needs to be broken up, a core they have a strong connection to and have been wishing on for 6+ years
I’m sorry for breaking up this core would be stupid. This team obviously has the talent to win. The 2008 team would not have done anything if they had a guy with Garnetts talent but not his attitude. They need somebody who can give them some grit. Last year it was the coach.

I harbor no hate for the heat. They play great basketball and Butler plays his ass off. He doesn’t even flop as much as he used to. I think Jokic is the best player in the NBA by far but I’d be fine with the Heat winning

As far as the core of this team goes….Al Horford turns 37 in two weeks. How much longer can he be counted on?

Feels to me like something is missing with the two Jays, Brown is the guy I would look to move. They just don’t really seem to complement each other as well as two stars should.

I think they should try a different type of coach from outside the organization.. I know it's four coaches in four years, but three of them have basically been from the same tree. Let's try someone with maybe different ideas.. but who that is.. I have not idea.

Given the salary cap and how hard it is to change over a roster.. I don't think that burning it down/trading a ton of players is going to work as some of you may hope.

I’m sure Jaylen Brown will work on the little things once he inks a $295M contract. You only move him for the right move but there is no way he’s untouchable anymore.

Definitely not the same tree BTW, Stevens isn't really from a tree, but Udoka was a Popovich/Brett Brown guy, Mazulla... I guess he's from Stevens' tree?

he’s well known for being a manical worker. It’s shitty to question anyones work ethic on this team, especially the Jays
