This would be their 11th straight elimination game win. If you figure the last four games of the regular season this year were also effectively elimination games, I think it's safe to say no team plays better with its back to the wall.

Sad watching this as a TB fan. Reminds me of Moore's performance against Texas in the 2011 ALDS. Shame injuries and inconsistency prevented him from becoming who we thought he'd be. At one point, he was a top 3 trade value guy right alongside Harper and Trout.
Did you get a decent haul for him from SF?

Got Matt Duffy at a time when he was slumping following a great rookie season, an A ball shortstop that's years away from any impact and a lottery ticket.

Peanuts relative to what his value once was but I understood the trade from TB's side - there was a surplus of starting pitching and Moore was about to get expensive (expensive for TB anyway).

While it was too harsh, that FO also went on to give Barry Zito a small fortune following a 3-year trend of crashing peripherals.
Oh they made some missteps.

The Zito contract was bad and that and the Aaron Rowand contracts were essentially meant to transition the fan-base from the Bonds era to whatever was coming next. That said, the Giants had trouble attracting hitters because of the park and the clubhouse when Bonds were there. As such, they were price takers for any stars that might even entertain coming there. Zito was a calculated risk because of the dimensions of the park - he actually did well in spurts but as you pointed out, the warning signs were there that he had lost something over in Oakland. That said, he was big for them in 2012 so he wasn't a complete waste. Rowand was hot garbage his whole time as a Giant

Like did he learn nothing from the Crawford signing?
No. Theo's hole in his GM game is free agents. To be fair, Heyward got hurt making a diving catch earlier in the year in San Francisco and it seemed to have some lingering effects. That said, it is a putrid contract.
