Hate the Boys but can't help but like Romo. I'm ready for him to retire any time now. And he can take Witten with him, too.

Is calling Romo a poor mans's Tom Brady fair?

I think you'd have to at least sniff the SB to be called a poor man's Brady. No shot.. Maybe next lifetime...

Not to disparage the GOAT, but if Romo had been playing for New England instead of Dallas his career would likely be seen in a very different light. It boggles the mind how someone can play that well for perhaps the most well known franchise in the NFL, have zero off-field issues of note, and still be as poorly regarded as Tony Romo.

He had 10 seasons, plenty of weapons and stout defenses and did jack shit.

Not a lot of playoff success and some high profile INT's (plus the fumbled snap) have hurt his rep but it's definitely unwarranted. He hasn't been given much help in his career and he's way, way better than people realize. Without Romo, the Cowboys are one of the worst teams in the NFL. With him, they are a threat.

edit - plus, he makes a high quality crownie.

Except that he hasn't had any of that until recently (the weapons, anyway). Sure, the team was pretty good once or twice, but they've been mediocre or worse for the majority of his career. How someone can see what the team did last year, lose seven straight games without him this year and still say stupid shit like this, with a straight face, is just completely beyond my comprehension.

It is an interesting question. I'd lean toward yes; Romo's been unfairly slagged by his own fanbase because of it, too.

Hardy is obviously the Yankees pitcher who threw at his own son at a father-son game.
Duke Simpson, played by former Milwaukee Brewer Willie Mueller.

Win a bar bet: Mueller made his real major league debut against the Red Sox.

Romo's coaches have also been a past-his-prime Bill Parcells, Wade Phillips (LOL) and Jason Garrett. There isn't even somebody in Belichick's galaxy.

I think it's fair to say this injury and the collapse in results after have gone a long way to show people, causal fans and fans of other teams included, how good and important Romo has been to the Cowboys. High profile INTs be damned, the dude has kept that team competitive. Now they have this great line and a superstar wide receiver, and frankly a better defense than the last few years and STILL can't win without him.

I can' like him as he's a Cowboy, but I respect him. Fortunately there are easier targets for much more deserved hatred on the Cowboys now.

I dunno, you can say this about a lot of top 10 quarterbacks. I like Romo, but how good would Indy / NYG / NO / SD be without their QBs (especially losing them mid-season)? Conversely, how good would say, OAK / Buf / NYJ / TB / Ten have been over the past few years with Romo, Brees, Rivers, etc instead of the junk they put out there?

Romo is definitely a top 10 QB, and I think most reasonable fans would agree, but I don't think he's criminally underrated or anything.

Indy is not currently a great example, as they are 2-0 sans Luck. That could change in the coming weeks but as of now, that's what it is.

I'd say he's more overmaligned than underrated.

Is Romo one of the guy who runs his own Twitter? Because that's fantastic.

One step closer to 8-8 :D
Let's just hope Romo got all of his rust out of the way because he's going to need to be a lot sharper with Carolina coming to town. Call me crazy, but I don't think they'll be able to get away with those two interceptions this time around.

Also, the line needs to do better. Their pass protection was putrid.

Christine Michael was also cut
In part, for violating the team dress code.

Former Cowboys cornerback Corey White and running back Christine Michael were both cut last Tuesday for not wearing suits during the team's road trip to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The news was first reported by The Dallas Morning News on Monday. White confirmed the Cowboys' reasoning to TMZ Sports on Tuesday, saying that a coach specifically told him that he was released for not wearing a suit.

"I'm not mad ... It's the rules," he told TMZ Sports, adding that he wore slacks and a button-down on the trip -- an outfit choice that evidently breaks the teams dress code.

An anonymous Cowboys player further explained the cuts in the Morning News' report by saying, "Sometimes you just have to drop the hammer." That quote, in the context of everything that's surrounded Dallas Cowboy Greg Hardy this season, is disappointing, to say the least. The Cowboys were all too willing to use "the hammer" on backup players who don't dress up to an arbitrary professional standard, yet the team's misogynistic, allegedly abusive defensive star can brew his own drama and show up late to work without any tangible repercussions.

For the third time this season, Hardy was late to team facilities again last Thursday, and then late to another meeting last Saturday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. This prompted another "come to Jerry" moment from the organization, which at this point in the Cowboys' 3-7 season, wreaks of desperation.

Joseph Randle arrested for assaulting a security guard in a Kansas casino. I think this should put to bed any hand-wringing about why he was cut loose.

Ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was arrested outside of a Kansas casino last night ... after he was told to leave and went berserk on cops on the way out ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We've confirmed ... 23-year-old Randle was arrested at 10:40 PM in front of the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, KS.

Sources at the casino tell us he was initially asked to leave for being too drunk -- but on the way out, spit on the floor and assaulted a security officer.

Sorry buddy, totally uncalled for especially on a holiday. Happy Thanksgiving my friend ;-)

May Tony Romo's clavicle no longer have the structural integrity of a termite infested hoarders home.

The corn will be Jerry fucking it up and reaching for some dumbshit safety who runs afoul with the law and is out of the league by 2018.
The serious questions now are whether Romo is done and what you do if he is.

I certainly hope not. I like Romo and wish him well in any game the Pats aren't in. But he is 35, and it's probably an old 35 given how much punishment he has taken.

So you certainly bring him back, but with no realistic expectation he is good for 16 games.

Now what? I would not trust Jerry with this. Stephen yes, Jerry no. I'd be terrified he has RGIII and Manziel itches to scratch.

The Cowboys will struggle to upgrade their backup QB spot, because guys like RG3 and Kaepernick (if he's cut) will sign with teams that can offer a chance to compete for the starting job.
