Imagine if Fultz put up 13/6/2 on 5-6 shooting, including a couple face-up 18-footers while being a +4 in a 21-point loss in 19 minutes while Jahlil shot 2-13 on two dunks with a -11?Nothing crazy. Hard to say much, he also played a lot with okafor. Who can't set screens or create shit or offer a pnr threat. Basically jah sucks so hard he makes everyone worse.
If they play all season without Embiid and Saric the under is gold. Making 82-game regular season judgements from one pre-season game can't be very meaningful though. This team is going to be one of the more fun young ones to watch grow even if the results may not be there. It was either last year or the one prior where Charlotte and Sacramento were a combined 15-1 or something like that.Over under is 41.5 and this is an easier bet than Mayweather over McGregor.
Wait, why would they be without Saric? The googles tell me nothing. If they play all season without Embiid and Saric the under is gold. I'm pretty sure it was available to watch live, at least according to the Fultz thread. No idea the game wasn't on TV even with league pass and because I got it via TV the streams aren't possible to get yet.
Really? If compared to the complete history of great NBA halves, then ok. Adding a little context: one year college, essentially zero pro experience and early in his rookie exhibition season, that clip showed me something I'm really looking forward to seeing more. 6'10" with that kind of vision, skill and mobility is pretty special if he can stay on the court.Meh. As far as highlight reels go
He looks great in those clips. Kind of reminded me of Larry, except that we know that he doesn't have a shot. If he were a stock, I would buy.I think Simmons is just going to be a great player. He doesn't have the unbelievable explosiveness, but his size, ball handling and playmaking ability is very similar to LeBron. He isn't going to be LeBron, but I think he is an easy favorite for RoY.
...in favor of going underhand. Hey, it's proven effective!
I was referring to the impulse post following one pre-season game in which neither Embiid or Saric played.Wait, why would they be without Saric? The googles tell me nothing.
Amazing they gave more time to Okafor than Holmes, preseason and all that. If/when this team gets fully healthy, they could totally mess with teams by going big. Embiid, Holmes, Saric, Covington all provide length and can hit the 3 to varying degrees. Add in a 6'10 PG in Simmons and they can rival Milwaukee as far as length goes. They may have the most length in the NBA. Not to mention Jahlil, Emeka and Amir.I was referring to the impulse post following one pre-season game in which neither Embiid or Saric played.
Anyone changing any views on anything on 20 mins of pre season where they were running a very very basic (dull) offense is mad.
So, uh, which is it?Okafor needs to go. Had enough.
A quote from March of this year.It doesn't really seem salient what Butler was doing at age 22. He's historically unusual in his development at a relatively old NBA age. There's no particular reason to think Saric will follow Butler's development curve. It's like comparing Aaron Hicks at age 24 to Jose Bautista, saying when Bautista was 24, he was a scrub. Okay, but so what?
Mohamed Bamba: May 12, 1998Fultz btw is younger than most of the top pick names next year. Whatever.
Ha. Well - that didn't work out.A quote from March of this year.
Did you have some special insight into Aaron Hicks this year, can you find more like him?
Ha. Well - that didn't work out.
You know they won 28 last year, right?76ers will be lucky to win 30 games.
No. Not even remotely a little bit. He was drafted hurt we knew this. It became a two year injury. Last year 31 games and he was immediately one of the best big men in the league. Are any other 76ers fans growing weary of Joel Embiid's act? What is this, 29 games in 3 seasons, and more bench time in street clothes to start season 4, still tweeting, showing up at various events, probably going to get a pay raise in the offseason. Has any player in history played less and been idolized more?
He makes Sam Bowie look like John Havlicek by comparison.
Embiid has been down so long, Jahil Okafor lost 25 pounds and stole his job.
Yeah, I know, Embiid would be playing but management is just being careful.
76ers will be lucky to win 30 games. I'm not seeing the hype w this team. Simmons can't shoot. Embiid can't play more than 40 games. Fultz is a rookie and they generally aren't helpful. Reddick and Amir will help some, but man I'm just not seeing it with this team.
Interesting? Sure. Good in a few years? Maybe. But 41.5 is bananaland.
They had embiid play 31 games, they added fultz, Simmons, redick, Johnson and korkmaz and experience for several others. You know they won 28 last year, right?
Holmes is not great but he's a decent back up to an injury prone and likely babied stud. This hurts because it may mean more okafor and frankly f that.Marc J. SpearsVerified account @MarcJSpearsESPN 10m10 minutes ago
Sixers say forward Richaun Holmes has a non-displaced fracture in the radial bone of his left wrist and will be re-evaluated in three weeks.
This troll has been rooting for Philly since 1958. Wilt averaged more than 48 minutes per game in one of his early years. Forgive me if I'm not impressed by 31 games in 3 seasons. I was prepared for one injured season from Embiid. When it goes longer among 7-footers, I start to worry.No. Not even remotely a little bit. He was drafted hurt we knew this. It became a two year injury. Last year 31 games and he was immediately one of the best big men in the league.
Okafor didn't steal his job. Troll level fail
They had embiid play 31 games, they added fultz, Simmons, redick, Johnson and korkmaz and experience for several others.
So the talent is clearly better, and as moops says they won 28. 30 assumes a lot of bad outcomes.
Troll level also fail.
How am I trolling? They aren't very good. I don't buy Simmons fit as a ball handling power forward who will struggle to defend and create spacing issues. Young teams tend to struggle. Badly. We will see if they can have a 12 win increase, which is what Vegas projects.No. Not even remotely a little bit. He was drafted hurt we knew this. It became a two year injury. Last year 31 games and he was immediately one of the best big men in the league.

I agree with you. Injuries, lack of practice time together, teammates just getting to know each other. They will start poorly, get hot for a month or two, run out of gas. I can easily see Embiid sitting for stretches, Fultz sitting for stretches, Simmons sitting for stretches and this team struggling to find a rhythm.
Homer level: Fail.

TJ McConnell just commented on trade rumors, saying he doesn't want to go to "fucking Cleveland."It is totally injury dependent. They have a lot of talent for the East. I like that little asshole TJ whatever his last name is a lot.

McConnell is a Pittsburgh guy so he probably hates Cleveland from way back.See, I really have an eye for my kind of guy.
Unless you have a crystal ball, this statement is a contradiction in terms. The under 41.5 is a lock to me. I just don't see it. They won't push Simmons/Fultz/Embiid through injury this year.
So we're homers but you aren't? HmmmMaybe the C-suckers should stay out of this thread until our teams have played 10 real games. Yes, our Sixers may not play up to expectations because of the uncertain health of our main star and the fact that we’re relying on two guys who are playing their first seasons in the NBA, but can you at least let us see what we have before you start shitting on our team’s chances? There are enough circle-jerk threads in this forum where you can cream yourselves over your supposed juggernaut’s chances. Please restrict yourselves to posting in them for the time being. Ten regular season games is not a lot to ask. Yours in gratitude, a Process Truster.
I didn’t say that at all. But we’re not going into your team’s threads and pointing out the ways your team might fall of the grand expectations you have for it. I’m just asking for a similar respect—at least until the teams have played a few real games so we have more to judge on than a few summer league and exhibition games. So we're homers but you aren't? If only 76ers fans posted in that thread, it would have 8 posts in 3 years. If you care that much, find an actual 76ers board.I didn’t say that at all.
