Apparently Popovich cursed out Howard during the game. Popovich was trying to run a play for Howard but instead of staying in the huddle, Dwight was off laughing and socializing.

They only have a 0.6% of making the Finals and a 0.1% chance at winning the finals. The embarrassment of missing the playoffs with such a stacked roster would be incredibly enjoyable though--and certainly some sort of a black mark for those that think Kobe is anywhere near the greatest ever.

I just looked at Utah's schedule for the next 10 games though (they are 2.5 games ahead of the Lakers)
@ Milwakee
@ Cleveland
@ Chicago
@ New York
v Det
@ OKC
v Memphis
v NYK
@ Houston
@ San Antonio
I only see 1 game (home v Detroit) that they could even be considered the favorite, perfect opportunity for the Lakers to strike
I dont understand why teams do this. At least wait until you see what your defense can do until you hack him. Play man to man, if a pick and roll looks bad, or a Kobe iso looks unpromising, hack Dwight then.Nomar813 said:The Magic went full hack-a-Dwight and sent him to the line 39 times tonight. Unfortunately, it backfired. He raised his free throw percentage by more than a point.

According to Prosportstransactions.com, after a series of trades involving the Lakers, Suns and Cavs, the Suns in 2013 have the least favorable of the Lakers pick (top 14 protected), the Cavaliers pick, the Kings pick (top 13 protected), and the Heat pick.deanx0 said:I'm sure that the Suns, who own the pick, would love for them to tank. Particularly because the pick is not lottery-protected.
Yes, and assuming that website has it right, the Lakers would keep their first rounder if it falls from #1 to #14.Curtis Pride said:In other words, the Suns would be getting the Heat pick.
Not if they can't beat Phoenix with JO as the Suns' starting center. But I'm rooting for the Lakers to make it, because I don't want them in the lottery.cromulence said:Yeah, my POV is biased cause all I've seen of the Jazz is the two Knicks games. But wow, those are two god-awful games. I'd be pretty surprised if the Lakers can't stay ahead of them.
