Zdeno Chara and Jake DeBrusk both out thru the weekend with upper body injuries. Will be evaluated in Boston next week
Yah, that one got me in my feeling.Don't know how many people are still watching Behind the B but there was a really neat segment on Postma and his dog meeting up in Calgary.
Here's an nhl.com story on it
video starts at 8:52
Other than that I got nothing.
Just your annual every Bruin get seriously injured before the playoffs episode.
Getting pretty old actually.
I guess Id rather see Dman 9 play when 1 & 2 are playing, but what the hell. Cobwebs ahoy.McQuaid didn’t finish last night’s game. Going to need to bring Postma up for Wedneday’s game at a minimum.
Probably had to take a mid term.Donato is missing because he was in class. Ha.
I gotta think it's a concussion. He took a big hit high in the Tampa game. I don't know how to link the video but someone on HF had it.That would seem to line those guys up to return before the end of the regular season. Good news. They were radio silent on DeBrusk, so getting him back on the ice this quick was unexpected.
The Rick Nash situation is a bit weird. He played all of the Tampa game, then took part in morning skate prior to the Blue Jackets game with no reported issues, ended up as a scratch and hasn’t been on the ice since. 2.5 weeks until game 1 so hopefully he’s back on the ice the end of this week or early next week. Anything later and I’d think his game 1 availability would be in jeopardy.
Yeah that seems to make sense.I gotta think it's a concussion. He took a big hit high in the Tampa game. I don't know how to link the video but someone on HF had it.
Concussions are weird. You can play after one (seriously running the risk of taking a 2nd hit to an already injured brain, which as we know now can cause CTE) then wake up the next day with symptoms. Sometimes those symptoms don't fully show up until you increase your heart rate.
Might have been the injury same for DeBrusk, but with more immediate onset. He left the game when his had head the glass/dasher edgeI gotta think it's a concussion. He took a big hit high in the Tampa game. I don't know how to link the video but someone on HF had it.

He played one more shift. Got hit again in front of the Carolina net.Might have been the injury same for DeBrusk, but with more immediate onset. He left the game when his had head the glass/dasher edge
WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Rick Nash — remember him? — was considered the prize catch of the NHL’s February trade deadline. Not considered among the favorites to deal for him as the Feb. 26 buzzer drew near, the Bruins were thrilled to acquire the veteran winger from the Rangers, ecstatic about adding him for what they hope will be a deep playoff run.
Now the question lingers: Will the 6-foot-4-inch right winger be seen again in the Black-and-Gold batting order anytime soon, or at all, with but eight games remaining in the regular season?
It’s beginning to sound doubtful.
And to add insult to injury, per Joe Haggerty: “No further discipline expected for Josh Morrissey boarding hit on Matt Grzelcyk from Bruins/Jets. Belief is that Grzelcyk made a quick turn to face the boards shortly before contact & put himself in a vulnerable position ‘immediately prior or simultaneously with the check’”On the other hand, Grzelcyk did not return after being victimized of a 5-minute boarding major.
It's just laughable at this point. DOPS should just say "You guys employ Marchand so your players are fair game for cheap shots."And to add insult to injury, per Joe Haggerty: “No further discipline expected for Josh Morrissey boarding hit on Matt Grzelcyk from Bruins/Jets. I'm not one to buy into conspiracy theories, but this, on top of what Backes got, on top of what Hornqvist *didn't* get... kinda makes you go hmm...It's just laughable at this point. DOPS should just say "You guys employ Marchand so your players are fair game for cheap shots."
I'd even delay Chara/McAvoy until later next week. Let them get as much rest as possible then play next weekend to get their game conditioning.DeBrusk is likely back tomorrow.
Chara and McAvoy will not play tomorrow but will travel with the team and could play Sunday.
