Backes will miss a couple of games, but seems Bergy is progressing and could join the team on the road trip this week.

I've got my fingers crossed that with the team responding to the players down they are doing exactly as we hoped and being extra cautious to the point of resting some of them. They've got bodies that are taking up the slack - this could be advantageous in the long run.

McQuaid didn’t finish last night’s game. Going to need to bring Postma up for Wedneday’s game at a minimum.

I guess Id rather see Dman 9 play when 1 & 2 are playing, but what the hell. Cobwebs ahoy.

What a difference a year makes. Not only do they have the depth to remain competitive when a bunch of top-end guys are out, the standings don't demand that they play the injured guys because they need every damn point.

That would seem to line those guys up to return before the end of the regular season. Good news. They were radio silent on DeBrusk, so getting him back on the ice this quick was unexpected.

The Rick Nash situation is a bit weird. He played all of the Tampa game, then took part in morning skate prior to the Blue Jackets game with no reported issues, ended up as a scratch and hasn’t been on the ice since. 2.5 weeks until game 1 so hopefully he’s back on the ice the end of this week or early next week. Anything later and I’d think his game 1 availability would be in jeopardy.

I gotta think it's a concussion. He took a big hit high in the Tampa game. I don't know how to link the video but someone on HF had it.
Concussions are weird. You can sometimes play after one (seriously running the risk of taking a 2nd hit to an already injured brain, which as we know now can cause CTE) then wake up the next day with symptoms. Sometimes those symptoms don't fully show up until you increase your heart rate.

Yeah that seems to make sense.

Cassidy said Rick was the “furthest” away. The other 5 are maybe’s for Thursday’s game, but they are hopefull they’ll play over the weekend.

Might have been the injury same for DeBrusk, but with more immediate onset. He left the game when his had head the glass/dasher edge

KPD speculates on Rick Nash:

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/bruins/2018/03/26/has-rick-nash-played-his-last-game-bruin/xR1uu53sHbsmMCWHUukJjO/story.html

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Rick Nash — remember him? — was considered the prize catch of the NHL’s February trade deadline. Not considered among the favorites to deal for him as the Feb. 26 buzzer drew near, the Bruins were thrilled to acquire the veteran winger from the Rangers, ecstatic about adding him for what they hope will be a deep playoff run.
Now the question lingers: Will the 6-foot-4-inch right winger be seen again in the Black-and-Gold batting order anytime soon, or at all, with but eight games remaining in the regular season?
It’s beginning to sound doubtful.

Grade A click bait from KPD.

No new info, just complete speculation based on Cassidy’s comments.

FWIW, Cassidy’s “that’s a tougher one to project” comment would seem to point towards concussion.

They're also at a point in the season where guys might have injuries they could play through, but be held out for a little while to get close to 100%. I'm guessing Bergeron plays with a broken foot if it's late in the playoffs, for example.

But yeah the fact that they're being so vague about some of these do point towards concussions.

On the other hand, Grzelcyk did not return after being victimized of a 5-minute boarding major.
And to add insult to injury, per Joe Haggerty: “No further discipline expected for Josh Morrissey boarding hit on Matt Grzelcyk from Bruins/Jets. Belief is that Grzelcyk made a quick turn to face the boards shortly before contact & put himself in a vulnerable position ‘immediately prior or simultaneously with the check’”

It's just laughable at this point. DOPS should just say "You guys employ Marchand so your players are fair game for cheap shots."

DeBrusk is likely back tomorrow.

Chara and McAvoy will not play tomorrow but will travel with the team and could play Sunday.

Bruce Cassidy on Rick Nash (upper-body): "He’s improving daily, still not ready to play. Saw him this morning. He was working out. That’s where he’s at right now. Not on the ice yet." #NHLBruins

I hadn't looked back and seen it so posting for anyone else who hasn't either, but here is a clip of the hit on Nash that appears to have left him concussed.

Rick Nash still hasn’t skated and won’t make road trip with the Bruins, but he continues to work out off the ice and make progress, per Bruce Cassidy

Pregame updates from Bruce Cassidy:

Jake DeBrusk will return this afternoon with Brian Gionta the scratch up front.

Zdeno Chara and Charlie McAvoy will travel with the team for the trip. Rick Nash will not, Sean Kuraly is TBD.

Tuukka Rask starts in goal. #NHLBruins
