    Well that sucks.

Beleskey is day to day with a foot contusion and JFK is day to day with an upper body injury.

Sounds like he will be back close to the opener. Still, shitty. Maybe someone like Zboril or Lauzon gets a shot now.

I think O'Gara and Grz will be first up.

The opener is 2 weeks from tonight so seems Krug misses at least a week of the regular season. Not the end of the world, but still sucks.

The fact that it was non-displaced is a good thing since it shouldn't require titanium plates/screws. Depending on the location on the mandible, they may place some wires (intermaxillary fixation) to stabilize for better healing and restrict his diet to soft foods.

Maybe, if it was postseason it would be a discussion. But honestly that would be crazy at this point in year

Acciari is out 6 weeks with a broken finger.

Also, Krug practiced today. Bergy skated beforehand but did not practice with the team.

Cassidy says that Krug, Bergeron and Czarnik will be game time decisions tomorrow, but he’s pretty optimistic on Krug. Bergy practiced a bit today, but no-contact so I don’t think he plays. Czarnik has been a full participant for a few days, so he seems to be a likely go. If Bergy and Czarnik both can’t go, they’ll need to call up an F.

Cassidy has ruled Bergy out for tomorrow’s game. He said Bergy hasn’t progressed as quick they thought, but they hope to have him available over the weekend.

Wow. First Acciardi, now Spooner. Injuries are making it tough for this team to get settled into the season.

Add Rask to the list. Bowled over by Bjork during practice, did not return.

Spooner hurts this team by being healthy. I feel bad he's injured, but I wholly support a Bruins team where he's not skating.

Yeah neither of these injuries matter at all. They're currently missing one of the most valuable players in the league, fungible 4th liners are not the problem

No link since it was on the radio, but they seem to be concerned with a possible concussion.

    That's terrific.

Also, Cassidy said spasms for Krejci.

Krejci is now “week-to-week” and is out tomorrow and Saturday. They’ll re-evaluate Sunday or Monday.

    JFK time?

I imagine Czarnik would get the first look. A shame that Krejci, once a fine player, has become “Chiarelli’s revenge”.

McIntyre up on emergency recall and the team says he's backing up tomorrow night in Columbus. Cassidy said Rask was starting tomorrow earlier today, and Khudobin took part in an optional skate. So who knows.

Szwarz and McIntyre up on emergency recall.

I really think they need to try and find a C externally with the Backes news and Krejci seemingly not close to a return.

Yeah, having three of their potential centers be out for a long time is something most teams aren't prepared for. However, I would be concerned about giving up assets when they will all likely be back in 8 weeks.

Tough start to the season for the Bs. If healthy, they could be really good.

I'm not convinced they are disciplined enough to be really good. Jury is still out on Cassidy IMO.

Every year with Krejci it's something different. I don't think we'll ever see peak Krejci ever again.

It's amazing to me how little respect Krejci gets. For a guy that consistently put up 60-70 point seasons, has spent his entire career in Boston and won a cup with the team.

It's really a shame that he was miscast as a #1 center his entire career. I think if he had been rightfully cast as a 2, we'd look much more kindly on his career.

He was a number 1 center in this league for 5-6 years before his hip injuries. If there was a rule against goalies winning the Conn Smythe, Krejci would've won it in 2011. He was also their best player in the 2010 playoffs (which completely turned after he broke his wrist) and he would've been on the short list of playoff MVP candidates in 2013 had they won. The fact that the peak of his career corresponds with the most successful period in recent team history isn't a coincidence.

I admitted I'm just hating, but when you peak at 22 and average 63 points per 82 games, you're not a number one center. It's a shame for him his injuries occurred in his age 26 and 28 seasons (surrounding an all star season), but aside from a couple of playoff runs (13 was awesome, 11 was solid but unspectacular outside of the PHI series) he's been a talented but inconsistent number two center. I know the contract isn't his fault, but while he's been real nice value for the #63 pick, he's not close to worth his contract and he was not a number one center for 5-6 years.

A forward without any other dominant skill set (ie. face offs, defense, fighting, etc)? A pretty solid supporting player.

I look forward to your Gotcha example.

He may not be a dominant defensive player like Bergeron, but he's definitely a solid defensive player that can be effective on all special team units.

His only issue is being touted as a first line center. Although, I will say that he had some seasons with some pretty meh first line wingers. Just my recollection, I'd have to go back and double check my work. I think in a non-Juien system, he would have been a consistent point per game player during his peak years.

For his career, Krejci tallies 0.75 points per game (annual range: 0.66 to 0.88). His career face-off percentage is 51.1. He blocks shots, makes hits, and last season the only forwards with more TOI were Bergeron and Marchand.

In both the 2011 and 2013 playoffs, Krejci led the team in points. That should tell you what Krejci means to this team when he’s healthy and on his game.

In six games this year, healthy, he had six points and won 57.7 of his face-offs. Then the back injury. Back, hip — that’s a lot to come back from. If he does, he should still have a few more years as a valuable second-line center. If he doesn’t, this team has a big hole.
