He’s skated the past 2 days. Guessing he’ll play sometime in the next week.

    Cehlarik up.

Backes' ongoing concussion issues are really concerning. It's worrisome that a hit like that would knock him out.

Apparently the next Hall of Fame Bruins defenseman got cleared for full practice today, and may be available on Saturday.

Cehlarik was sent down yesterday; Czarnik up for tonight.

Czarnik scored twice last night and is having a nice year in Providence, 13-29=42 in 38 games.

    Great move IMO.

This season has blown my expectations with how the kids have progressed. They have so many options to just simply plug and play if they need to.

Acciari is back to full participation in practice, game time decision tomorrow. The article from BSJ makes it sound like he has been dealing with a LBI for most of the year, but it was aggravated against the Islanders, and he played through it until the team was healthy enough for him to take some time off. If he is truly fully healthy, the league better watch out because I thought he was pretty damn effective before.

I listened to the Toronto radio call, was there an obvious play where this may have happened? I don't think they mentioned anything.

Why did he play Sunday? I know they would've been short but why risk anything with this guy?

Cassidy says XRay’s after Saturday’s game we’re negative. My guess is they did a scan after Sunday’s game.

Yep. Probably a hairline fracture that didn't show up in an X-ray. Better to get it better now and have him for the playoffs rather than play through it now.

The Wingles move makes a ton more sense now.

    You're right....

Bergeron suffered the foot injury during the Bruins' 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. He left the Air Canada Centre in a walking boot, and an X-ray that night came back negative. After playing through "some discomfort" in his foot on Sunday against the Sabres, a CT scan revealed the small fracture.

It's nitpicking, but it irks the hell out of me that they still played him Sunday. If he wasn't 100%, don't play him in a game against a team you aren't jockeying for playoff position, the day after he hurt his foot.

So Toronto it is for the opening round. Fine - between the Leafs and the Raptors I've grown to dislike them so it will be nice to end their season early for the 51st time in a row.

Are these guys ever 100% though? If the x-ray came back negative and Bergy said he's fine, they're not going decide for him.

    I wouldn’t be scared of McAvoy’s injury. I’d guess he’s out 3 weeks with a sprained MCL...

Re-watching the injury feels like an exercise in trying to read tea leaves. He gets tripped and falls down. I'd guess a shoulder injury before anything else.

Matt Kalman is at practice and the Bruins are taking their team picture. Charlie McAvoy walked out onto the ice in slippers for the picture while Patrice Bergeron was pushed out to the picture in a folding chair by Brandon Carlo. Everyone else had skates on. I don't think they'd let McAvoy walk out onto the ice if he was seriously injured.

He is not practicing today. Neither is Rask.

Fluto tweeted that McAvoy is out tomorrow night. No surprise there especially as he's not practicing today.

To me it looked like his left skate hung up for a split second then his foot sprung the other way. I thought it would be a non major left knee injury but you never know.

FWIW, Bedard’s doctor on BSJ thinks MCL sprain. Days/week if it is mild, 4-6 weeks if it is moderate. Brace, rest would be the treatment.

He was wearing a brace today, so that seems to line up with the available info.

That is 7-10 days before the playoffs if things go OK when he is re-evaluated.

And this is why they added Holden

I'd like him back for maybe the last couple games so he can get up to playoff speed before they start, but yeah, I'm not worried about him missing any time.

The team hasn’t said anything yet. Guess we’ll find out today/tomorrow since they’ll need to get bodies to Florida if those guys are out.

They are virtually guaranteed home ice in the 1st round at this point. If they catch Tampa, great. But I hope they don't bring guys back too early for that purpose. Keep all of the important players with injuries out as long as they need to be.

Wingels and McQuaid were healthy scratches last night, so they are covered if DeBrusk is out plus one of the defenseman. They’d need a D if both Chara and Krug can’t go. FWIW, there were no absences from Providence’s practice today. There is still plenty of time to get someone to Florida for the game tomorrow, but I would think they’d try to get someone there sooner rather than later if they knew both Chara and Krug were out.

Does that include JFK? It sounded like he had a serious head injury in late February but I've been able to find 0 about that since. Good job good effort Bruins media.

edit: Nevermind, just saw Divver's tweet:
