"We need to make baseball more appealing to the younger generation!"
"No, we must keep its august reputation and play up being a traditional, grown up game."
"Why don't we compromise and produce it for kids and have the most important parts way past their bed time?"
"Fucking. Brilliant. You got any other ideas?"
"Pete Rose."

Did Strawberry cross the plate yet after his HR in game 7 in the 1986 Series? So glad I lived long enough to see this.

Edit: spell check let me down

I'm with you there. So many people on the east coast do NOT see the end of these games, except for maybe the Saturday night game. Or if you do see them, you're a zombie for a week.

Collins tries to steal time with Clippard, Yost goes straight to Davis.
We will see, but to me Yost manages circles around Collins.
Watching Yost this year .. He seems to evolved somewhat .. He used to be incredibly dogmatic with his bullpen usage .. Maybe losing his closer has taught him some flexibility.

HR just contradicted what he said about Familia yesterday. Yesterday, he said it was a good idea for Familia to pitch in a blowout to get a clean inning in for his confidence. Today, he is saying that it is not good that the Royals have seen him too many times. He is such a dope, ridiculous that he is the 2nd person in the booth for the WS.

Why?  Robles is damn good.  Also, who else do the Mets have left?
He's an okay middle reliever coming into a game that's basically deciding your season. I think tonight's game is more important than tomorrow. Personally, I'd have left in Familia, but you're right, it's even worse after Robels.

HR is an idiot.

We have a thread for that.

An okay middle reliever?  1.02 WHIP, 61K in 54 IP.  I think he's better than Reed or Clippard and should be used as such

Yeah, that's probably true. I only took a quick glance at his numbers, but you're right, he's been more effective than Clippard this season.
