538 with some interesting data and analysis around why bubble offense has been better than the "regular" season. Its definitely worth the read.
So why did the opposite happen in 2020? Two reasons: Defenses couldn’t stop fouling, and shooters couldn’t stop missing.
The aforementioned lack of travel and a tournament style setting in a closed environment also has to help. These people are literally eating, sleeping and breathing hoops with few other distractions*

* Assuming bubble integrity is intact.

Well I hope we enjoyed the romantic conceits of Orlando beating Milwaukee or Portland beating the Lakers.
8-1 upsets are pretty rare, and I don’t think anyone here expected those.

But Milwaukee and the LAL are showing some flaws. I said back in Feb or March that I’d be surprised if LAL made the finals, and I’m going to double down now and predict that Houston beats them in 6 in round 2. Feel free to quote this if I’m horribly wrong.

From your lips to God's ears.

Houston, for all of their flaws, is a finely oiled machine right now. I won't ever count out Lebron entirely, even aging, balding Lebron with 140K miles on the odometer. But there's something to be said for having role players who know their roles and are good at them.

Its a bit reactionary but you have to wonder if Denver replaces Malone if they get bounced. That Roster needs to be handled carefully imo.

He isn’t the only problem, but Jokic needs to be more consistent if he wants to be a Top 10 guy. As talented as he is, he just has too many of these nothing games in the playoffs. I need 30-15-10 from him next game or something like that. He’s talented as hell but I don’t trust him in the playoffs.

Utah getting Conley back and him balling out was obviously huge.

Not to be mean — I've always liked them — but man, the Nuggets are perennially such fool's gold.
They routinely have one of the strongest home court advantages, I assume because of the altitude. As such, playing in the bubble hurts them more than most.

Also, teams that excel on offense and are weak on defense always seem like fools gold come May and June.

Double tech on Doncic and Harrell? This is gonna be a fun one...

i mean it looked like their feet got tangled while Luka was engaged with the other LAC player. Maybe the arm made contact. But that didn't seem to be the cause, if it was, total flop.

But Luka yelling at him doesn't help

Haha, that is outstanding. Definitely the vibe I got throughout Game 3.

Setting aside PG’s woes/injuries: can we all acknowledge that Kawhi Leonard is the best player in the NBA right now? He was a force of nature on both ends last night. He’s got the peak-MJ qualities of stepping on the court every game knowing he’s the best player out there, controlling every aspect of the game, and making it look easy.

Harrell called Luka a "Bitch ass white boy" after scoring on him yesterday (this was followed by Harrell flopping on defense and Luka calling him out for it) and what would normally be uneventful NBA shit talking is kind of blowing up on social media, with people leaving two humorous takes.

1. Certain (white) people who really want to point out what the reaction would be like if the roles were reversed.

2. Speculation about who would win in a fight, Harrell or Luka, which is an interesting exploration into ethnic stereotypes.

I felt so damn bad for Kleber. They gave him little help yesterday. Just "hey take your beating". I'd love them to beat the lakers but i cant see it.

Also, Pandemic P continues to provide content

What does that even mean? Are there certain (white) people that don't want to point out what the reaction would be like if the roles were reversed? Would black people not care to or be capable of pointing out the error of Harrell's ways? I'm stumped.

It would be patently absurd for the NBA to not come down hard on Harrell.

Harrell would win the fight I think. He’s only got one inch and ten pounds on Luka which isn’t a ton but has much longer arms.Although luka being significantly quicker could provide some drama

I just don't like betting against people from the Balkans when an anything-goes fight is involved.

(Ya ya it's more alpine, but it's in the vicinity)

I'm really skeptical of "Nikola Jokic, top-10 player in the playoffs". That is the full take.

Truth isn’t mean. They are a tease and have never been able to lock down on defense.

We’ll always have the 2009 WCF.
This team continues to be overrated without Harris and Barton’s defense. Jokic is getting run off the floor by Gobert, Porter hasn’t ever played an ounce of defense coming directly from AAU, they have no toughness and they lack leadership. They flat out quit yesterday and have two games to go before they can go home......I really think this may be their collective attitude.

I remember taking heat for not considering Jokic a Top-10 player. Those days were cute.

Not reading twitter or the actual reactions...just trying to answer your question with what seems to me to be the most likely answer...

Doesn't it mean that people are asking what the reaction would be if Luka said something in reference to Harrell's race in a negative way? Not even using the N word...just use the same words Harrell used but use "black" instead of "white".

That seems to me to be the answer to your question of what "Certain (white) people who really want to point out what the reaction would be like if the roles were reversed" means.

What do you propose the NBA do for trash talking during a game?
