What an unforced error by the Bengals. Running on the Ravens all night and you get cute from the 1 yard line.
Calling a shovel pass to a backup TE there is….ehhhh. That’s dead if any of the interior DL sniff it, and unfortunately the Ravens have a man named Calais Campbell.
Would have been better off with an incompletion on 3rd and Goal. No temptation to go for it on 4th.
Strategy? The entire sport is riddled with risk/reward decisions, yet the idea of going for fourth downs outside the context of a do or die situation is discussed like it is some kind of multi variable calculus the zombie nerds devise.
The analysts should at least attempt to explain the thought process in good faith. They can even discuss the wisdom of specific decisions based on context. Instead it’s week after week of comments like ‘the analytics say go for it, but I don’t know, and these coaches will have to answer questions if it goes wrong!’

There’s no way the Tucker kick in 2012 was fully inside the outside of the upright, but replacement refs!
They added five feet in like 2014, and we're still dealing with this. We need lasers.
