I don't mind kicking the field goal, but Kelly needs to make up his mode more quickly. The field goal unit had to rush on to the field. It may have impacted the kick.

It's the gray bars. I had assumed those were yellow bars thst had turned gray after they were used. I was wrong. ESPN is stupid.
Umm they are team colors. Green for Philly, Red for Atlanta.

Coaches get way too conservative there.  If you're going to run it anyway, why not try a naked bootleg (which would have been wide open), or maybe an end around or something.  You know the defense is flying to the ball, so any sort of misdirection will catch them completely off guard, and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, the clock is still moving just like you wanted.  I can't remember the last time I saw a team in Atlanta's position right there, able to run the ball three straight times (unless they were just way better than their opponent on the LOS) and get the first down.

Wow that was some series by Bradford.
1 yard completion.
Throw so bad the 3 Falcons closer to the ball than his WR can't pick it.
Pick with his WR nowhere near it.

Edit- missed the tip on the pick, looked up and saw it getting caught 8 yards past the WR.

Matthews should have caught that ball

The pass hit Matthews in the face and he dropped it, causing the INT.  Not exactly Bradford's fault there.

Wait, the pick hit his WR in the hands and he missed it??

That last pick was not on Bradford.
Unfortunately he's the one it gets hung on, he carries that stat.

It wasn't a "tip." It went right through his hands.

There's a significant difference.

The best-case scenario resulting from that decision is needing to defend a two-minute drill where the opponent only needs a FG to win.  That's a terrible situation to be in against any remotely competent offense.

Fantasy football scoring should be smart enough by now to adjust for things like that last play. Bradford was not responsible for that pick, Matthews was. As a fantasy football based culture we should have move past this by now.

How many years do you think it will be before the NFL starts doing two Monday night games every week, all season?

I say one year.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning admitted taking strategic matters into his own hands late in Sunday night's season-opening loss to the Cowboys, confirming that he told running back Rashad Jennings not to score if he got close to the goal line. The purpose of the move was to run more time off the clock and deprive Dallas a chance at a comeback.
It did not work. Manning ended up throwing a clock-stopping incomplete pass on third down, the Giants settled for a field goal and the Cowboys marched down the field to score the winning touchdown with seven seconds left.

We're in for 3.5 hours of Chris Berman, Trent Dilfer, and black uniforms. Tempted to go to bed

Which reminds me: I wonder if AP's kid will get in trouble by breaking curfew to watch the game

Chris Berman and Trent Dilfer may be the worst announcing combo in the history of the NFL.
Only thing worse was Fox's experiment with Gus Johnson calling soccer.

I kept waiting for Berman and Dilfer to hand the game over to the announcing team.  Then I realized it is them.  Damn.

Berman sounds even worse than normal.
