Maybe this is why the Raiders have constantly targeted Crabtree in the redzone over Cooper. Went to Cooper three straight times inside the five-yard line, he couldn't pull in any of them. You need to be able to compete for the ball, and win, when in the redzone.
One of those balls was tipped, one was well-defended, and one he should've caught.

Obviously the tipped ball isn't his fault, and defenders get paid too. But he got his hands on all three passes and pulled in none of them.

I guess it just seems to me like they've been forcing the ball to Cooper in the early going here. Historically they've gone to Crabtree more than Cooper when they get closer to the endzone. Perhaps there is a good reason for that.

Ugly injury there on Ronald Darby.

If the other team is going to treat Cooper like he's Jerry Rice, then yeah, Carr needs to look elsewhere.

That's what the Titans are doing today.

This is never called, but the Lions' FLB is consistently lining up within a yard of the LOS.

I know it's week one, but what I'm seeing so far has been atrocious...And I'm watching the Red Zone.
I can't imagine what watching some of these games individually must be like.

The call on the field will be upheld, but good challenge by Marrone. Needed the TO for the 4th down play.

I think the JAX TD stands.

Romo is really good, he's nailing play calls consistently before they happen

Jags lines are dominating the Texans today. Expected it from the Defensive line but the O-Line play is stunning me. Perhaps being able to prepare/practice normally trumps "emotion"?

I think Maclin going to BAL was an underrated move of the offseason. If he stays healthy that guy is really good and will be better in a vertical passing offense; I didn't hear much chatter about him going into the season and found him really undervalued in fantasy.

Marrone is very interesting to me. I'm very intrigued to see what he does with Jags

That Jags defense might be legitimately good. Perhaps not Bortles proof good, but they have a ton of talent on that side and will wins some games by themselves.

Don't minimize coaching. Doug Marrone has done a good job.

To echo what others are saying, I'm watching the Jags/Texans game and the Jags D looks really, really good. They're all over the field.

IIRC didn't Marrone go 9-7 in Buffalo; but then Kyle Orton retired and Jim Schwartz left and Marrone mysteriously decided to resign? Buffalo then brought in Rex and the team fell apart, but at the time Marrone was thought of as a real promising head coach.
