Don't minimize coaching. Doug Marrone has done a good job.
I will reserve real judgement on Marrone with a slightly larger sample size and after they play a team that has a QB, a LT, and didn't go through a horrific disaster in the 2 weeks leading up to the game.

But so far, A+!

IIRC didn't Marrone go 9-7 in Buffalo; but then Kyle Orton retired and Jim Schwartz left and Marrone mysteriously decided to resign? Buffalo then brought in Rex and the team fell apart, but at the time Marrone was thought of as a real promising head coach.
Marrone's contract allowed him to resign and receive one year's severance if the Bills were sold. I think he smartly realized that those Bills were likely to take a step back; then, new ownership exacerbated the situation by hiring Rex Ryan.

Of course, I just said it was intriguing. This performance heightens that.

Watching Blount in Wa-Philly evoking warm memories. This is a good competitive game.

Man, I'm with Gunfighter on the Marquette King bandwagon. He is just a special teams monster.

Deshaun Watson has made Tom Savage irrelevant for the rest of the year. He just got more yards on that drive than Savage had in the game to that point.

Wasn't it DeAndre Hopkins who came out in preseason and said something like "Savage is my guy.." If so, interesting to see if his tune changes after he catches Watson's first td.

Interesting call by officials in Bills/Jets game. Seemed like they strategically called a touchdown to get an automatic review

Not trying to derail the Deshaun Watson bandwagon, but the only reason that drive was kept alive was because of two stupid penalties on Jacksonville. He should have had his first INT instead of his first TD. The Jax penalty on his pick had nothing to do with the play.

Probably backing up his QB. Because Savage is definitely not his guy now.
IIRC, it was pretty unprompted, and it was well before there was a decision to start Savage over Watson. That's why it stuck out so much. I'm pretty sure it was Hopkins.

Well it would have been weird if he either;

A) Said he hated Tom Savage and demanded Watson be the QB

Or

B) Reacted to the TD catch as if it had been thrown by Satan himself and refused to acknowledge Watson because Tom Savage was his guy.

In other words, what did you expect him to do?

On Red Zone earlier, they were saying the refs have been told to try to make difficult calls in favor of whatever will require an automatic review, so if there is a question as to whether or not a score happened, or whether or not it's a fumble, err on the side of the score or the fumble and get the automatic review. Smart, IMO.

Ok, I thought crew was freelancing. It was interesting live. Closest official called it right and had a good view, was overruled by guys way further away.

Are you actually reading my posts? He was unprompted. He didn't need to say anything about Savage. Instead, he basically threw Watson under the bus. Is that somehow being a good teammate, because he backed up Savage instead of Watson, when they were in the middle of a battle over the starting job?

As for B, I'm pretty sure I said "interesting to see if his tune changes after he catches Watson's first td." Does that have anything to do with his reaction on the field?

Holy shit, I don't think anyone has ever been as open in the middle of the field as Austin Hooper was just now. And wow, that stiff arm is going to suck to watch on tape for the defensive back.

It looked like the safety who should have covered him deep is the same as the one who was stiff armed.

Watson's not a savior, but he's a lot more dynamic than Savage and even though he'll make rookie mistakes, he'll give the Texans a better chance to win. Whether or not that's good for his development is debatable.

Adoree Jackson would have cleared the kicker with his hurdle on the kick return, if a couple other tacklers didn't come into the play. The kicker was standing almost straight up, and he never made contact with him. That would have been epic if he could have come down clean on the other side. From the time he jumped, until he hit the ground was like 10 yards.

Pryor could have been an interesting Patriot and he wouldn't have cost a 1st Rounder.
I wanted him, but he is very very raw. Not a good route runner. Hands could be better. Not in Cooks' class.

Cousins' mistakes + Pryor's are why they trail in this game.

Falcons tried to give up that game.
If the Bears cover Austin Hooper, we may be talking about both conference champs from last season starting the season with L's. Very unimpressive performance from Atlanta against a mediocre (at best) Bears team.

The Super Bowl hangover is real (well, mostly).

What a joke in Washington. It was the easiest call, his THROW hit the lineman hand. How dumb are these refs?
