I can't get enough of Akeem Ayers' article, and Reggie Wayne asking out because it was too hard was a stark contrast to Mr. Ayers' attitude...
That is exactly why I'd said that if Zolak's information is accurate, good riddance to Mr. Wayne.

It has nothing to do with anyone perception (of lack thereof) of Reggie as a "soft" player. As many have rightly noted, you don't last that long if you're not physically and mentally tough on Sunday.

However, to succeed in Foxboro, toughness on gameday is not enough if you want to fit into the culture. You need to bring a mental toughness all week to Do Your Job. And it doesn't come just from the top. It's a culture that Bruschi and McGinest instilled in the locker room and Brady, Wilfork and many others have reinforced over the years.

As has been said countless times, players need to buy in to succeed. That's what it takes to be a cultural fit here. Ayers was a fit. Wayne tried it - and either had nothing left (as some have surmised) or did not get on the proverbial bus. Either way, letting him move on is the right call.

Oh, that's gold.  I hope Belichick blows up that photo and posts it all over the practice facility.

In fairness, they couldn't have every QB on there. The only one you can really fault them on is having Palmer over Brady.

This is a terrible statement. Brady is not only the reigning champion, but he's better than every QB on that list except for Luck and Rodgers.

It's small and childish of the NFL to leave off Brady. So pretty much par for the course.

I just picture a bunch of DB's in suites chest bumping yelling "sick burn"!

It's interesting to me that they went with 4 NFC quarterbacks and 3 AFC quarterbacks. Makes me wonder whether an earlier version of that included 4 and 4

He's better than Luck, at least right now. Luck has a bit too much Favre in his game. Not having him on is very salty either way.
Poor Rog :(

Brady is represented by the Lombardi Trophy in the center.  It would have been redundant to include his actual likeness.

Ha ha. This is the saltiest of the salty. Unquestionably an intentional omission.
Even better because the tears come from the NFL league office.

I'm imagining in the PR room: "'So for the last QB, who should we pick?' 'Tannehill? Cutler?' 'Alex Smith?' 'No guys, I got it: CARSON PALMER!'"

There are just so many pathetic aspects to that promo. No Brady, Payton but no Eli, and Carson Palmer??? How many games will he play this year and did they photoshop him to make him look younger?

You do wonder, but this is really the line that the league cannot cross without becoming full-scale wrestling style "entertainment."

Maybe it will, but it will be obvious too.

Holy crap, what a bunch of sackless weasels.

That pic that the NFL posted then deleted was a promo for something called the "Super Bowl".

Pictured in the promo were:

Ben Roethlisberger: 2 Super Bowl wins
Drew Brees: 1 Super Bowl win
Peyton Manning: 1 Super Bowl win
Russell Wilson: 1 Super Bowl win
Andrew Luck: 0 Super Bowl appearances
Carson Palmer: 0 Super Bowl appearances. Also: sucks.

Left off of the promo was some guy named Tom Brady.  Who, it should be pointed out, has basically lapped the field when it comes to that whole "Super Bowl" thing, with 4 wins in 6 appearances. He has one less Super Bowl win than all six of QBs included in the promo combined.

The NFL is a disgrace.

Can't wait.

@AlbertBreer: Watched Do Your Job. Really well done. Incredible detail on the double-pass, ineligible receivers, the Indy gameplan and the Butler pick.

There's also  a half hour show called "Do your job:Overtime" with bonus content that did not make the cut among other things, so set your DVR's accordingly.

Hmm -- haven't heard this before. Chung deserves a lot of love:

@PatriotsSB49 Pat Chung blew up the FB and somehow grabbed Lynch's right ankle. That was the key. Lynch was already falling.

Check reddit.com/r/Patriots tomorrow, someone should have it uploaded.
I thought someone here uploads it so its "private". I would think those on reddit would be taken down by the NFL.
