Had the same problem yesterday on iOS. Around the same time as the crash on the site.
Trying to remember what resolved it. Maybe I restarted my device? Def. works well now. Only thing that's odd is the banner ads which are maybe a bit intrusive but it doesn't sound like a SoSH thing.

FYI the apps are known to be broken after today's update. They'll be fixed eventually, sorry for the inconvenience.
The mobile apps will be updating within the week.
I hope that everyone likes them, there will certainly be changes most of which should be for the better.
One note - THERE IS NO CONTROL OVER THE SOURCE CODE FROM THIS END. THERE IS NO WAY FOR US TO "TINKER" WITH THE INTERFACES PRESENTED TO US. IT IS WHAT IS IT UNFORTUNATELY. I AM WRITING THIS IN CAPS IN THE HOPE THAT I DON'T GET 58 PRIVATE MESSAGES THE DAY AFTER IT UPDATES. I DO NOT MIND HEARING FROM YOU, I LOVE YOU ALL, BUT IT CAN BE A BIT MUCH.

yeah it's basically branded Tapatalk so what you see with the new clients there is probably what it's going to look like.
I don't have an Android device handy ATM - can someone with one see if it's updated in the Play store yet?

It's up, but it's bombing out now: "Tapatalk addon addon-Tapatalk.xml was not imported." in case you get a chance to look at it before me. In a meeting for a while.
home now - reinstalling the tapatalk plugin. All mobile devices will be offline while I do this...
yeah don't have any control over gifs, I'm sure that there is something that tapatalk can work on
Tapatalk has pissed off a lot of customers ever since they did a complete design change on the stock app earlier this year... What was once a 5 star app is now a 2 star app (which is still better than the 1 star rating it had over the summer)
The "sponsored content" that they hide in there even when you're on the paid version sucks so hard. They make them look like threads and it's easy to click by mistake.
Oh fuck I didn't realize that was in there. Are you using tapatalk or The SoSH app. It DEFINITELY shouldn't be in the SoSH app.
I luckily had a version of tapatalk pre redesign on an external hard drive (back when the app was actually good).. I have been using that on both my ipad and iphone, and will contiune to use it until they either go back to the old version or somehow prevent me from using this version
yeah, use the SoSH App. We pay like 30 or 50 or something a month for that, I figured it was a good use of our funds rather than everyone individually buying Tapatalk.
I agree Tapatalk ads blow -- that's why I reacted strongly. There is one forum that I am on that uses it and it's so damn bad, the ads insert real-time so if you're clicking on a normal post and time it poorly it'll chuck an ad in there.
So yeah, use the SoSH app. And throw us a review while you're at it!

I bought the premium tapatalk some versions ago and have never seen one of their ads. No ad blocker on my phone so that's not it.
The new version was awful for a little while, but they've put back the mode that I mostly use (roughly similar to "Browse" in the Soshapp) and brought the design up to somewhat modern standards. Most of the complaining on their forum is just standard people hating change type negativity. It has been much less laggy for me than the older versions.
Nip, if it matters the site is loading much better in recent Tapatalk also.

Is Timeline gone for good from iPhone app or is there a chance it might be restored when the update hits? I know it was stated that there are a lot of things that cannot be customized.
Timeline disappeared from my Android tablet, but it is still available on my phone. Strange.

I find that the android app signs me out constantly. I have to log in 75% of the time I open the app.
Try uninstalling it and installing again. Unfortunately we don't have any control over the apps.
In Tapatalk (I paid for the premium years ago I believe) both GIFs and tweets are working. And I don't get the ads having bought the premium.
The SoSH app has ads that appear in it and the tweet links often appear as 'unsupported media.' But I WANT to use this one more.
The mobile web client as better as previously mentioned, but the apps are quicker to access for me and so get the priority of my usage.

That happened to me when I didn't also have Tapatalk on my phone. But with both installed, the SoSH app stays logged in.
Sorry if this has been asked and answered but when I log in, it takes me directly to the timeline as opposed to the list of forums and threads. Is there any way to change that? Thanks!!
Came here to ask the same thing. Personally I prefer Browse by default when opening the app.
Also, Foulkey referred to the "paid version" upthread. Is he referring to Tapatak or the SoSH app? I would gladly pay some dollars money for a banner free app.
