I answered Red in the other forum but will repost it here:

"FWIW, I had nothing to do with locking or moving any threads here, but also it was not just one moderator, there was a discussion in the mod forum about it in which many mods chimed in and agreed that gambling threads should be in the dedicated forum set up for that. If you want to debate that, I recommend starting a Backwash thread."
What is the process for getting access to the other forum? I haven’t been able to get any clear info on this. Thank you.

The lack of communication is a valid complaint.
I agree to an extent and try to be public with any modding I do, but keep in mind how something like this actually happens. There is discussion on the mod forum in which different perspectives are brought up and eventually a collective decision is made. In a situation like this, it's not really one person making the decision so it's kind of difficult to communicate the specifics, although I am trying to do so right now. But like I said above, Backwash threads almost always get feedback if they're done respectfully.

I didn't mean rationale - just communicating the basic fact that Information A was moved to Location B. As people have pointed out, nobody visits Fiskful.

You should have access if you are a member, I don't want to post a link here. If you're a member and don't have access, maybe message @SumnerH and he can fix your account (sorry Sumner).

Yeah, like I said, I always try to mod publicly when I step in like this, I agree.

Again, I'm going to move this post to Backwash where the discussion belongs.

Why is an NBA gambling thread acceptable, but a catch all thread not? Most of the action stems from NBA historically. It’s related to the NBA dialogue and that’s where we’ve gone for years. I suspect commentary around other sports will have less interest, but if it does it’ll be during the NBA offseason when this forum is less active anyway. So who is this harming?!?!
Probably because this is a basketball sub-forum, just a guess

So to be clear, your view, is that an NBA gambling thread is OK, but if someone mentions another sport in that thread you are offended and harmed?

How do you view about subjects that discuss the economy/markets within V&N? Should those discussions be moved? Do you generally find yourself angry when others are collaborating and engaging positively with each other if the subject veers from something you care about?

I'm not angry at all, I haven't made about 15 posts complaining about it, it just makes no sense for a thread specifically designed for non basketball gambling to be in a basketball sub-forum

It’s not specifically non- basketball. It’s expanding upon an existing NBA thread. You may know that if you happen to follow the threads as carefully as you’re followed my journey to get someone to actually engage with us.

The first sentence in that thread is literally "Hello! I'd suggest continue using the (Adam) Silver Dollar for all NBA wagering plays, discussions, etc. " That's about as non basketball gambling as it gets.

Lost in todays commotion was a 1pm WNBA game that landed 30 pts beneath its closing Total. I'll have to do some legwork to see if there is the same correlation to NBA early start times. Judging from the multiple 3-pt airballs my initial guess would lean to yes. Circadian clocks don't recognize gender do they?

I’d caution that analysis. Sparks were playing at 10:00 AM PT, but covered by 23.5. Day games, especially weekday day games, are more common in the W than the NBA.

The last person on this board who attempted to perform a sleep-based analysis did receive an ESPN the Magazine profile, however I’m not sure those are the footsteps you want to follow.

That is precisely the variance I've spoken about in early start NBA games and this games flow played like so many we've been seeing in these early starts. The home team is often the one that generally has no legs from playing these time that they aren't accustomed in the NBA which has been wildly profitable. Watching that game I noticed that Dallas also had no legs on threes coming off screens w two 1H airballs that weren't even close to the rim. As I said, I want to backrest these more but I'll have to dig to find those start times.

To be clear: I have no issue with the thread being in Port Cellar...

But why is the bolded necessarily so? I understand that if you post something new there, it's not going to get any traction because there are no eyeballs. But in this case, we're moving an allegedly popular thread. Can't people simply be directed to go there now for this information they seemingly really want?

The lack of communication is a valid complaint.
I deleted my comment due to cluelessness.

So is there no new thread, or is there a new thread, but only in a member's only location?
My idea was to create a profitable thread for the Cellar dwellers who enjoyed Silver Dollar based around ease of access for the followers and ease of use for myself. Mods said no. The idea that it's simply one more click isn't really accurate as it's often not on the forefront of people's minds. This much I'm certain.

I was going to give it a shot in the other forum but already on the first night without it being in front of my face here I never got to posting so it's dead from my contributions. Self-fulfilling prophecy indeed. We're on to Cincinnati.

I'm going make an effort and try to make a habit of getting the MMA in the Fiskful thread. The daily stuff however would never happen consistently so I'm not going to touch that except make now and then. See how it goes.

If you ever get the golf itch (betting-wise) the best guy I've come across is Rick Gehman (he will answer any question you have if you email him). He is very model-driven

Rick Run Good is his YouTube site, he's on a few times a week...

Appreciate it I'll give him a look. This is the time of year I can fiddle and diddle with golf too.

Berryhorse. There's a name I haven't heard in a while. He went on a huge heater on r/sportsbook years ago and then lost it all back and then some after teaming up with a syndicate and selling picks on Twitter. He also ripped off a ton of people in crypto along the way with a shitcoin ICO pump and dump exit scam. He deleted his Twitter a while ago because he was a gambling addict who went broke and owed a bunch of bookies. Didn't know he was back touting again. Looks like he still has a crack following on Twitter from his original run (gamblers be thirsty). Be careful who you trust in this space.

I don't care if he snorts lines off my wife's ass on a blackjack table at Hard Rock when I'm out of town. I added him as my MLB tail this year as I have many reasons to believe he's going to provide a strong ROI this season. He's on about a 40u pace on relatively low volume so I'm pleased. I'll deal with the wife in October...she's got some hard questions to answer. ;)

Edit: UFC stuff up in Fiskful. Those who don't have access send PM I'll copy/paste.

No.

Questions should be asked in the support forum, the mods are better able to answer them than I am, but you get full membership by posting quality posts. Post enough good posts over time and the community will recognize you and recommend you for promotion. Spam shitty posts and you'll get banned.

Are you done sucking now?

Anyway, do legal books have much in the form of NBA draft props up? This is often as close to free money as you can find, although severely limited, but easy is easy even if it's only a little. As with most, in early is crucial as these move fast. I don't want to bother if nobody can get down.

Yes. DK has:

  • Pick number 1-10
  • O/U player draft position
  • To be drafted Top 5
  • To be drafted Top 10
  • To be drafted first round
  • H2H who will be drafted first
  • Top 3 exact order
  • Top 5 exact order

Any idea on limits? Specifically the O/U and H2H. I left area yesterday but will be back next week and def worth loading an account if they are decent. My locals are capped at 50, 100, and 150 respectively.

Generally there are enough books that you can spread around 5-6 if needed to get a quality amount down.

Hard to say on DK, but looks like Fanduel is between 1k-2.5k on the O/U but is only offering Coulibaly, Wallace, Bufkin, and Hendricks. No H2H. DK has a lot more options.
This is beautiful news. Completely slipped my mind or I would have prepared for this past weekend. Ty

Depends on your state. Virginia doesn’t allow prop betting on this like yearly awards and draft picks.

We can bet on game outcomes and team outcome based futures.

Don’t ask me why, I can’t seem to find the legal rational for it online.

Woke up to see odds on Brandon Miller as #2 pick just jumped to -400. Scoot had been the betting favorite all along until now.

What isn't beautiful news is that I'm one week off and didn't realize the draft was this week. :D

I hasn't been following this market hard but hasn't Miller been the slight favorite up until this morning? I'm not a fan of his upside but he can shoot from distance....just think that at #2 you don't want a role player you want high upside and to me that's Scoot.

I totally agree that Scoot should be #2. The wild card here is obviously Charlotte and their desire to build around Lamelo.

Scoot has been the favorite to go #2 since I started to follow in March. He has floated between -180 and -120 recently but Miller did overtake him for a brief period a week or two ago.

thank you. I'm expecting/hoping for a complete HRB breakdown later today ;)
You'll be waiting a long time. I am short accounts right now as it is and wouldn't tie up funds for so long unless I had excess credit. This is a tough time of year until everyone comes out marketing for football in August and there is buzz going around.
