On that whistle, I assumed they were calling the foul on the Hawks since Smart's play was clean.Refs are having a tough few minutes
Probably says more about how matadoresque Atlanta's D was than anything else.I thought that was illegal
Can’t complain too much, but I wish they wouldn’t play with their food; this was a chance to save some minutes and let the starters rest a bit. Al Horford had to play until the horn; the last 5 minutes of the 4th should have been Kornet time.I wouldn't be happy about that second half. They've got to stop mentally checking out of games when they have a big lead.
Snyder went to the same well we saw last season of doubling Tatum relentlessly as soon as he gets involved and daring others to make them pay. I find it frustrating not that they gave up a run but that they still look really rough when the other team sells out on TatumI wouldn't be happy about that second half. Fifteen to go.
Indeed. 1-0, 15 left.This.
That's my feeling. Really hard to keep the intensity up, and also hard to turn it up again quickly. Having said that, it never got to single digits and was never in doubt.Hard to stay completely locked in when you go up 30, but they will clean it up imo.
Good and easy win, on to the next.
And when it got down to 12 Joe called a timeout and the team came back and immediately got it back up to 18. They were able to get their shots whenever they wanted them. That's my feeling. Fun fact.. they also play brothers in Oz.. and are actually brothers in real life. He was also in Good Will Hunting.I think the brother in that basketball insurance commercial is the "them apples" guy from Good Will Hunting.
Agree with this. Rob Williams is the only player who really needs minutes management at this point and he played 22 pretty dominant minutes which feels just about right for a first round Game 1.For me, saving a few minutes in a given game is meaningless as long as they get the win.
Where you actually save the legs for the long haul of the playoffs is ending series early, not letting it stretch to 7 like they did last year in two straight series as the clear better team.
I’m deeply encouraged that they took care of business from square one and made it basically an unwinnable game for Atlanta 20ish minutes in.
They could still afford to clean some things up, of course.
I was actually wondering about that. Thank you for posting it.Fun fact.. they also play brothers in Oz.. and are actually brothers in real life. He was also in Good Will Hunting.
