Such a nice contrast from yesterday, which was the first time I ever had to turn their show off. Joe Murray just screaming at the top of his lungs is not what I'm looking for during my morning drive.

Roche is great stuff today and a big part of it is that Fred isn't there to shit on everything he says
Roche is great. There was one point maybe an hour ago where Murray said "I'm still here". Realized he hadn't said a word in like 15 minutes. Was kinda nice.
Oh that's too bad that Roche didn't come in until 9. I missed it. The first couple hours of the show was awful radio, but per usual for vacation week fill-in stuff. Not sure who the 3rd guy was in with McCarthy and Murray, but he didn't seem comfortable at all on the air.

If I heard the Monday show correctly, Joe Murray thinks sports gambling should be a general part of the conversation going forward (not just a segment or a niche thing). Exciting as it will be to gamble on sports in Mass, I truly hope this does not happen. Fortunately based on the conversation they had it sounds like T&R aren’t about to go in that direction either.
It's not proof of mass adulation or some insane fan base here if an event of yours gets sold out at the Wilbur Theater. It's got a 1,100 person seating capacity and the tickets weren't too expensive ,any of them, and there's over 600,000 people in Boston alone , never mind North Shore, South Shore and they're "syndicated" in other parts of New England. Anyone could see how it was like pulling teeth for them to get that relatively small venue sold out, if they even did. Because they could easily just pack remaining seats with Boston media employees. It was probably a fund raiser for Beasley Media to refill vending machines for a year or something, ever since they moved the Sports Hub studio out of Dorchester and into those mean streets of Waltham. Definitely not everyone but some people write like they work at 98 5 the Sports Hub lol, talking about " Rich's production finesse saving the show" media people would write like that , etc.

I'm going to sign up for an account on SoSH to go on a rant about them taking too long to sell out the Wilbur 3 weeks ago and post about it in a thread where no one is talking about it. Then try to make the same post 3 times before I get it right. Solid start. I'm looking forward to future posts.
On another note, where's Fred? He was in yesterday. Not sure I can take much of Rich leading a show about what happened last night for 4 hours and saying the same thing every segment. This would be a great day for Fred to steer the ship.
Not gonna lie. It’s a bit concerning that Fred isn’t there on the second day back from 2 weeks of vacation. Hope everything is ok.
I didn't get the chance to listen, but the first hour of the podcast describes that "Fred tries to login from home". Seems like another in a line of technical issue they've been having for months.

I started listening at about 610-615. I'm usually on at 6 but the dogs decided to sleep in, so I wasn't able to catch the open. I didn't hear anyone mention it
I'm pretty sure with the divorce he's having to get the kids to school or cover occasionally from what he's mentioned in passing. No idea why they can't get the equipment working, they broadcasted from home for over a year straight.
I mean...they were in the old studio for years and if the country station was doing a giveaway it Fd up their phone lines.

So, your not a big fan of the show. I know I'm pissing into the wind here and you probably won't respond before you are banned, but what don't you like about it? Give us some context! I honestly think Rich's production work is second to none. I also am a self proclaimed homer about this show because I listened when they first came on the air on that odd 3 to 7 spot when WBCN was still a thing. They have to be doing something right considering they have not only lasted as long as they have, but have also DOMINATED the ratings for a good amount of time.

Pre-pandemic, I used to listen during my morning commute. Hadn’t listened in forever until about a month ago, and he was slurring his speech so badly that I thought he was doing a bit at first. I hope he gets the help he seems to need.
I don't think he's drank at all since he went to rehab 18 months ago. I mean he could be, but there's been no signs of it from what I've seen.
