I'm approaching it from the standpoint that no one will pay him $16m/per. If that team exists, my proposal has a few holes. Going to be interesting to see it play out.

And #Raiders are now all but out of Darrelle Revis sweepstakes. He didn’t want to restructure. #Bucs have until Wed. to trade him

Doesn't make a ton of sense. Then again Whitner and Dansby just signed there too.
"I want to come back and help turn team and city around. I love Cleveland. It's my responsibilty''
"I'm coming home!,'' Donte Whitner told Cleveland.com
that's cheating though, I think both of Arrington's came when for some reason BB decided he could be a defensive endKlostrophobic said:But how many sacks does he have in his career? 2.
That's as many as Arrington.

No time to get cute. Deal with the money later. Make the trade

Only thing he could do is negotiate a restructure contingent upon trade if that's even allowed. Similar to the 72 hour window in MLB.Dogman2 said:
I don't think that is possible given the fact that he would still be under contact by another team tomorrow.
TB can give permission to facilitate a tradeDogman2 said:

No, but why wouldn't they if they would release him anyway?Dogman2 said:
I haven't read anything that says that have or will. Do you have a link?
I heard it, too. Casually threw it in there when mentioning the Bucs as his most improved team. When talking about Verner as a Revis replacement, he said "who by the way is visiting New England and if he doesn't get a trade there, he's going to be cut" or something along those lines.RedOctober3829 said:I was half asleep, but had ESPN on. I am surprised Tom Brady was endowed with such special powers in the last CBA.Dan to Theo to Ben said:TB can give permission to facilitate a trade
Thanks I thought I heard that. Surprised that its not getting more play.CyYoungSchilling said:I heard it, too. Casually threw it in there when mentioning the Bucs as his most improved team. I believe guys that are cut, like Revis, do not count.gmogmo said:With Talib going to Denver, shouldn't the pats actually prefer a trade for revis vs signing him as a free agent, because they'd likely get a 4th round compensatory pick for Talib next year which they'd forfit if they sign revis as a free agent? So give up a 6th now for a 4th next year....maybe I'm thinking of it wrong.
It's Ben, you clod.Mystic Merlin said:Get it done, Theo.
DrewDawg said:Schefter this morning on radio--does not expect trade, because Revis won't agree to redo deal. Thinks he's cut at 3:59.

If he's not willing to redo contract to facilitate a trade then that suggests the cost of his contract will be too high for the Pats when/if he hits the market.

If he gets released he gets a good chunk of bonus money from Tampa, correct? Plus whatever his new contract is. So he'll be making a lot more money than what the Patriots would be paying him if they were to sign him as a FAboca said:

You, sir, are a bravo soul. I turned on NFLAM and was subjected to a loo-boo-hoo Tuck Rule story with clips from Lincoln Kennedy and Rich Gannon. And then a segment on "Broncos Doin' Work." I lasted all of 6 minutes.
