It'd be good to know if he loves playing IN Boston or if he loves playing AT Boston. It's really something.Bey looks pretty attractive after tonight.
You think Bey's an upgrade over Hauser? My guess is that Hauser is better defensively, and certainly is shooting better overall.Bey looks pretty attractive after tonight.
Nope but with our luck, the Heat acquire Bey and he goes 80 percent from 3 in the playoffs, like a supercharged superCaleb. Just keep him away from any contender, please. You think Bey's an upgrade over Hauser? My guess is that Hauser is better defensively, and certainly is shooting better overall.
If you dig into Buddy’s history you may find some clues. That’s my guess.Don't get that from Indy's perspective.
Yeah, Indy never seemed enthused about him. He was the salary to get Halliburton. Now he's an expiring, and they get some 2nds to move on. Can turn those into a back-of-rotation player later (or today). If you dig into Buddy’s history you may find some clues. That’s my guess.
I think Agbaji is important to the deal too.Seems like a steep price to get Olynyk, but it makes sense for Toronto to get some shooting with size:

The Canadian thing does seem to play a part in Masai's thinking. Why do the Raptors bother? To have a Canadian to root for? They really should be rebuilding.
Masai has quietly been a terrible GM since the Kawhi season. He's consistently failed to get value for vets, added into losing teams, just a mess.I think Agbaji is important to the deal too.
He was the 14th pick in 2022, maybe Toronto sees something they can unlock in him. The 1st round pick should be like 27th or so so not a huge loss there.
Still interesting in the sense that Toronto appears to be adding, which I'm not quite sure is the right move
The Raptors have one of the strongest fan bases in the league and they love rooting for their fellow countryman. They aren’t competing for a title anytime soon and keeping their fan base engaged is a part of Masai’s responsibility. Why do the Raptors bother? To have a Canadian to root for? They really should be rebuilding.
I think its all about having a major leaguer ready if a bench-rotation guy (like PP) gets hurt.PP and Dunn seem superfluous. Wouldn’t that free up PP for another deal?
What has happened to his 3-point shooting? He's playing 32 mins/game this year, but only taking 2.4 3s. I haven't watched Charlotte at all, so no clue what's going on there.Presti is also a shark. Another nifty move. Hayward feels like the rare veteran who can fit in seamlessly with a young team like OKC.
Welcome back from NBA purgatory Gordo!
And, uh, stay healthy.Welcome back from NBA purgatory Gordo!
Maybe he can be a difference maker on OKC which already has a very good team. Hayward has been declining for years but is still a good all around player. A good career move for him. Hayward will likely replace Dort in OKC’s starting rotation.Presti is also a shark. Another nifty move. Hayward feels like the rare veteran who can fit in seamlessly with a young team like OKC.
Welcome back from NBA purgatory Gordo!
Hield and IND couldn't come to an agreement on an extension; Hield was not going to re-sign with IND; IND trying to get something for him. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2023/09/26/pacers-buddy-hield-contract-talks-are-at-a-halt-trade-not-imminent/70853105007/Don't get that from Indy's perspective.
And Korkmaz finally got his request!
TOR owes SAS its 1st round pick unless it falls in top 6; they are 4 games out of the play-in; maybe they think they should go that way instead of rely on the lottery gods to try to save their pick since they 5 worst teams in the league are pretty locked in.I think Agbaji is important to the deal too.

I think OKC is looking for him to be more of a connector than a difference maker but it will be interesting to see how he fits in given all of the other guys in OKC who will have the ball/shots.Maybe he can be a difference maker on OKC which already has a very good team. Hayward has been declining for years but is still a good all around player. A good career move for him. Hayward will likely replace Dort in OKC’s starting rotation.
I guess it's possible, but I wouldn't bet on him replacing Dort in the starting rotation. Maybe in time, but Dort fills a key role, and it's not like the first unit needs aa lot more scoring punchMaybe he can be a difference maker on OKC which already has a very good team. The Hornets and Pistons are generally too sad to follow. But I am throwing out a lot of Hayward's performance in CLT if only because they are the NBA version of non-playable characters. That franchise has been rudderless for what seems like forever. What has happened to his 3-point shooting? He's playing 32 mins/game this year, but only taking 2.4 3s. I haven't watched Charlotte at all, so no clue what's going on there.
I think it's very unlikely he gets through any considerable minutes without being injured at this point. They should let him play on the second unit, in low leverage situations, etc. He's a good vet piece but really would not have high expectations.Maybe he can be a difference maker on OKC which already has a very good team. Hayward has been declining for years but is still a good all around player. A good career move for him. Hayward will likely replace Dort in OKC’s starting rotation.
Why not both? You think Bey's an upgrade over Hauser? My guess is that Hauser is better defensively, and certainly is shooting better overall.
The Knicks are now a bit scarier. Damn.
On offense? Sure. But Grimes is a pesky defender. Bojan/Burks much less so.The Knicks are now a bit scarier. Damn.
And they replaced Fournier's salary with Bogdanovic's (which they'll pick up for next year) and kept all their first round picks, so they can still make one big move this summer or next year if someone becomes available. The Knicks are now a bit scarier. Damn.
Interesting. Hayward is probably at the stage of his career where coming off the bench makes sense.I guess it's possible, but I wouldn't bet on him replacing Dort in the starting rotation. Maybe in time, but Dort fills a key role, and it's not like the first unit needs aa lot more scoring punch
You're so right about Olynk. He'd be a great fit on a ton of contenders. The notion that he'll be dealt again makes sense, but then you're also right that Canadians love rooting for Canadians, so maybe he'll stay in place for a bit.The Raptors have one of the strongest fan bases in the league and they love rooting for their fellow countryman. They aren’t competing for a title anytime soon and keeping their fan base engaged is a part of Masai’s responsibility.
I do keep laughing at how Olynyk continues ending up in rebuilding spots when his skillset is that of a role guy on a real good team.
Obvious but it's all health with them now. They're going to field a G-league team tonight against Dallas (I'm assuming Brunson will be resting his turned ankle), and not because of outgoing players in this trade, but because they have their top 4 players all out, 2 of which will probably have offseason surgery and another recovering from major ankle surgery. They could easily tire out or lose remaining players with Thibs riding them that much harder to fill minutes. The Knicks are now a bit scarier. Damn.
The GM may save Thibs from himself by giving him so many players deserving of minutes that he can't ride his starters into the ground without causing lockerroom turmoil.Obvious but it's all health with them now. With everybody healthy, they should be in a dogfight for the #2 seed, but at this point that is starting to seem unlikely.
Edit: G-league probably an exaggeration, but it's a role player squad of Achiuwa, Hartenstein, DiVincenzo, and Hart at this point.
NYK's front office keeps on making good moves. And they replaced Fournier's salary with Bogdanovic's (which they'll pick up for next year) and kept all their first round picks, so they can still make one big move this summer or next year if someone becomes available.
The Pistons FO is a joke.NYK's front office keeps on making good moves.
Bogdanovic against other teams' benches will be a win.
The rumor was that Detroit was holding out for 2 Firsts last year on Bogie
i like this move a lot for Toronto.I think Agbaji is important to the deal too.

Wow, cross KO off the list. Maybe he just wanted to be in Canada.Seems like a steep price to get Olynyk, but it makes sense for Toronto to get some shooting with size:

Maybe we should see what we can get for Brissett, then...The Raptors have one of the strongest fan bases in the league and they love rooting for their fellow countryman. They aren’t competing for a title anytime soon and keeping their fan base engaged is a part of Masai’s responsibility.
I mean maybe, but I don't Kelly is a big enough name to really have much of any say in where he gets tradedWow, cross KO off the list. Maybe he just wanted to be in Canada.
