I have only seen a few innings of the first two Mets/Marlins games, but have already seen Jazz Chisholm fuck up three plays in CF.

10 teams have played two games so far, 8 are 1-1.

The only 2-0 team? The Rockies, on the road.

The only 0-2 team? The Padres, at home.

Baseball!

The Guardians with 8 walks, 11 singles, 3 stolen bases, only 4 strikeouts and 5 of their 9 runs were unearned. When they get on base, they are going to be aggressive, run and take advantage of every mistake their opponents make. It's fun to watch.

Jack Flaherty has walked six of the first twelve Blue Jays, still 0-0 for now because he hasn’t allowed any hits yet.

Why are steals up so much? Better leads with the pitch clock? Does throwing over to first base reset the clock?

Combination of new limit of only 2 pitcher rubber disengagements and the pitch clock making it predictable when the pitcher throws home.

Does everyone know that the games are free on Directv for the first week? Channel #s starting 720. I'm watching Sox/Astros right now. It's so annoying when the umpire gives the pitcher (in this case Urquidy) a free strike. Could have changed the outcome of the game, totally, as the Sox had two on.

Throwing over resets the clock, but the pitcher can only do it twice per batter. If he does it a third time and it doesn't result in an out, it's a balk.

And I suspect that the biggest reason for more steals is that pitchers are pushing the clock to the limit (pitching at 2 or 1 second) and that makes it very easy for the runners to time. That was certainly the case with the Red Sox on Thursday.

Also, the bases are slightly closer together because they're bigger. Runner gets there a fraction of a second faster than he would have last season.

Kansas CIty has yet score through 2 games. Sal Perez is 3-for-8. The rest of the team is 3-for-49.

Xander hits a 2-run bomb off of the corpse of Jose Urena. He's the one guy really hitting for the Padres early.

They might have to tweak something. I know most people don't care about the stolen base records the way they do some of the others, but if the home run rate jumped up to the same degree the stolen base success rate has, there would be talk about doing something about it.
Well it's TWO GAMES into the season so I wouldn't rush to judge anything.

Stolen bases are awesome. I hope someone steals 150 bags this year.

For sure about it only being two games, and I too like stolen bases---but I'm going to feel bad for Rickey if someone steals 150 bases, because he probably would have stolen 300 with these rules.

Cleveland's 2-0 shutout of Seattle last night was MLB's quickest game of the early season, played in 2:04. It was Cleveland's fastest game since Justin Masterson and Jake Peavy both went the distance in a 1-0 White Sox victory on May 18, 2011, that took 2:01.

The only tweak they need is for Red Sox pitchers to figure out how to not let baserunners get such huge jumps, like pretty much every other team has done. So far it's a Red Sox problem, not a rules problem.

Chris Bassitt gives up three homers in his first inning ever for TOR, 4-0 STL after one.

Is every fanbase doing the idiotic countdown of the clock for every opposing reliever, even before it reaches 5, or is it just Seattle? You'd think by the 4th game of the season they'd realize how pointless it is.

I think it's way more fun to see the crowd into the game and trying to get into the opposing pitcher's head as opposed to, say, playing with a beach ball or doing the wave (however I am not anti-wave). The Seattle fanbase is excellent.

I don't think the Rangers powder blues are bad. They're probably on the low end of the MLB powder blue rankings but the Rangers have always had mediocre uniforms.

I grew up watching baseball in the 90s and 00s and there were so many bland, boring, terrible uniforms it's hard to be mad about teams trying to be colorful. Unless it's those horrible cash grab City Connect uniforms. Those stink.

What do you think this is? I mean more power to them if they can sell the merch, but that's what these alternate unis are all about.

Hey our city connect jerseys are so aesthetically pleasing that a whole country just plagiarized them for their national team uniform.
