Henry Owens, LHP, Pawtucket — With the Red Sox’ top pitching prospect now in Triple A and primed to get two months’ worth of starts, if he pitches well Owens could be in competition for a starting role on the major league team next season. Said one major league scout who watched many of Owens’s starts, “There’s no reason to hold him back or not rush him. If he has success at Triple A, he’s going to make an impact at the major league level. Like any young pitcher, you have to be patient. But he has a great feel for pitching.”
