A few interesting lineup decisions by Arteta:
Leno, Bellerin, Mustafi, David Luiz, Saka, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Ozil, Martinelli, Lacazette, Aubameyang
Mustafi is back in there after last seen being seen taken off the pitch in a stretcher, so while it looked like a painful one, he must be okay if he is getting the start over Sokratis.
Ozil and Lacazette have struggled on the road in particular, and at Turf Moor is the type of match Emery would never have played Ozil. I hope Lacazette can nab a goal and turn his form around.
Martinelli gets another well-earned start even with Aubameyang back, with Pepe being the one left out. I thought we might see Lacazette sit and Aubameyang central.
Guendouzi is in for Torreira. Guendouzi played pretty well at Bournemouth, while definitely winding up the crowd with his antics. Torreira has been great under Arteta, but 20 year old Guendouzi could probably use Arteta’s instruction and organization more than anyone. He has been inconsistent due to a chaotic style of play where he is sometimes intercepting balls and breaking the lines with nice passes, but other times he has been wildly out of position and running all over the pitch. A little added structure from Arteta could go a long way for his career.
