I think today's show is going to be phenomenal radio. Felger has been saying all along that this would be a huge win for the team, and he will stick by that. Also, he hates the Canadiens and their as much if not more than most Bruins fans do.

He does lose one of his talking points about this team and their core, but his message won't change (nor should it). However, I think there will definitely be a positive tone to the show today. I'm looking forward to it.

He also hates the Canadian fans and the culture that surrounds the team. He had some epic rants about that last week and today should be aboslutely no exception.

If those Canadian radio guys would talk to Felger I'm sure he would have them on, but they're not stupid.

Today is must listen radio IMO. (today would have been must listen radio had they lost as well, and thats why this show is doing well)

One minor note Rocco. It's Canadien, with an e, which describes the culture and ridiculousness involved with that team. Thankfully most of the Canadian teams or fans aren't anything like that, and actually despise the Canadiens an equal amount.

Edit: And I agree with JMOH.

Yesterday was pretty good Felgy. He had a Montreal radio guy on the show, Tony Marrinaro, or whatever the fuck his name is, for two segments. It was pretty good radio.

Blacken, your like my brother in his irrational hatred of Felger. But I have that problem with Jack Edwards.

And JD Drew.

Tony Marinaro took off two days in a row from his hosting job to come to Boston to watch the game. He is the JD Drew of Canadian radio.

"F U PAL!"

I am laughing out loud. This should have been played instead of whatever Jack Edwards said last night.

I heartily endorse the rant, I think it's spot on and from the heart....just do it at like 4:30 or something. Discuss the game first then take them to task.

But in reality, this is awesome. "YOU LIAR".

Felger is showing signs of not being a giant retard. Mazz, on the other hand, sounds like a pile-on.

Phenomenal. Well played. I probably have 3 or 4 issues with Mazz, but his ability to say this phrase above and then to setup a strawman and go on his "no no no...i'm not saying" to argue against it are like nails on a chalkboard for me now

Outstanding show so far today, I was wrong and I'm glad for that.

The Jack Edwards rant with Battle Hymn playing in the back (From T&R) this morning is awesome.

I was listening to Gresh and Zo today talk about the draft. I know they arent favorites around here, but I thought it was enjoyable today. They were actually having a discussion about the draft and didnt need to resort to hysterical arguments.

Right at 2pm in come F&M and it is constant whining about "value" and crap like that. The most film I had seen of some of the players last night was in the 1 min highlight package in the draft coverage. I'm pretty sure that "preparation" for the draft for me blows away anything either Felger or Mazz did.

They are going to have Sid Rosenberg on later and hopefully some other guests to change the tone of the discussion. I actually think Felger could have a decent show today with the right guests, but he's letting Mazz go off the deep end. Apparently if they've never seen the player in an ESPN highlight scoring it is a bad pick.

edit: Mazz: "What does he [BB] have against pass rushers."
Holy crap, I didn't realize there are only kickers and centers left. Every single draft eligible pass rusher was picked in the 1st round. I guess if you're not the second coming of LT you don't qualify as a pass rusher.

I think Mazz referred to Solder as a "fat guy," which pretty much confirms he's just making stuff up.
If he said that, its a complete disgrace and 100% incorrect. If anything Solder needs to add some weight considering he is 6 8, and early in his college career he was playing TE. The one concern I had about him based on his 1 minute highlight clip was that it seemed he could get pushed back rather easily, which is much easier to fix than gaining speed, point being the guy isnt fat.

Mazz was saying it tongue in cheek, and it ties back to earlier this week when he said he didn't want the Pats to pick an OL b/c it's boring for him as a viewer. He also admitted it wasn't a criticism of the team and was purely selfish as he wanted to see a sexy pick, even though an OL might be the right pick for the team.

He's really about 5% serious with the fat guy comments, he's actually laughing as he's saying it. Lighten up guys.

Mazz and Bertrand's back and forth about the draft yesterday was hilarious.. I think Felger might have peed his pants during it..

You don't realize what a whiny baby he is until you follow Bertrand on Twitter. He is brutal. Who was that kid on here who said everything was "pathetic" and a "disagrace" over and over? I would swear Bertrand is him, acts just like him on Twitter.

Loved the bit about how we should be doing things the Jets way, since their way (through Drafting) has yielded a better OL than the Pats, a better RB situation than the Pats, and a better D than the Pats, by trading up.

Followed by Tony exclaiming that he hates the Pats way, since what does it get you? "11-5 and knocked out in the playoffs".

Felger was so logical at the start of the program! Now its back to his Jets <3 schtick. -_- Mazz is just unbearable, as always when it comes to the Pats. Yes, we get it, the Jets beat the Pats in the playoff game. But last I checked, the Jets are still holding a giant goose egg when it comes to Super Bowl and Conference championships during the last 40+ years and since nothing less than a 19-0 Pats season will satisfy those two I would think that they should apply the same standards to Felger's beloved Jets.

Remember how heavily the media bashed Belichick for selecting the "boring" DT Richard Seymour over WR David Terrell? How'd that work out? How about when Logan Mankins was selected and the media experts all went "Who?!" I love it how they constantly bash the Darius Butler pick, but always leave out the fact that all these media mock drafts had the Pats selecting him in the first round. Since they traded down and still got the guy you in the media wanted them to get, they suck? Is there any better example than how over the top these media reactionaries are than last year with Devon McCourty, who was arguably the second best defensive rookie in the year last year?

And when it comes to drafting philosophy, lets not pretend for a second that if the Pats spent a high draft pick on a talent and whiffed that they wouldn't do the exact same thing and bash, bash, bash. After all, thats what they did with Laurence Maroney and Chad Jackson, and if you want to go back, Daniel Graham, Ben Watson, Bethel Johnson, etc... No matter what the Pats do Felger & company are always right and the Pats are always wrong. The Pats just can't win no matter what they do.

I will say this for Felger, after Maz went off in my above quote, Felger said this.

"Look, if they draft anything close to last year, and pull in a McCourty, Gronk, Spikes, Cunningham, Cunningham haul, they can draft wherever they want, and I won't say a word".

I have to say that I can't really disagree with you. But during a break (I was listening in the car while I was stuck in a delightful traffic jam on the Pike Extention) I switched to the Big Show and heard Ordway and Steve DeOsie suckballing that annoying little shit Jonathon Craft. Wasn't too hard to figure out where those two stood in regards to the lockout as they fed Craft softball, leading questions. That's why I don't listen to 'EEI anymore. Actually, one of many reasons.

Which is what makes the way Felger and Mazz go about things so frustrating, because there really is no alternative in my eyes. No chance in hell am I turning into EEI.

I am shocked and appalled. Felger and Mazz spent the whole afternoon bashing the Pats because they are going to trade the number 33 pick, but the Pats used it! Are we going to get an apology from them for them being wrong on that? Or instead will they just bash the CB the Pats picked to death like they did with McCourty last year?

They say that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. I think when the basketball gods created Red Auerbach, they needed to also create an opposite. Someone who knew so little about basketball that you got stupider just being the same room with him when the subject was being discussed. They waited a few years before unveiling this opposite to the world, though, and his name is Tony Mazz.

Felger I think just hates the NBA and hated that his gig at Comcast involved the Celtics so much. I kind of get that. But Mazz is horrible. This show today you may as well call "a 4th grade level interpretation of the problems of the NBA."

I found this post to be extremely funny and accurate. Now I will stop disparaging Mazz, apparently the fault lies with universal laws.

Made the mistake of tuning in for some hockey talk recently.

Last week, Felger was bitching about the schedule of this series. Then says the worst part of the Bos/TB matchup was that the Lightning are EXACTLY like the Canadians, full of diving and trying to draw the penalty. Now, I don't watch a whole lot of TB games, but I do know that the TB stars have a decent reputation in the NHL...the only reason why he was saying this was so he caould say nancy and dive and cry over and over and over again. He heard Bruce Boudreau say it before THE Wash/TB series and he took it as gospel... all the while criticizing TB and their coach for having a style this way...

Yesterday, nary a word on this (because it is not true) and nothing but ball washing for Guy Boucher.

I can't even complain about Felger anymore he's so annoying. I find myself going over to 'EEI as soon as he begins one of his patently transparent ratings-driven rants. I've come to the conclusion however that the vast majority of people who call these shows are morons, and so am I for listening to them.

Not to be a dick, but why do you listen to this show? Did Sparky preset all of your radio stations to 98.5? Because you can fix that, you know.

I have listened to local sports radio once in several years: the Saturday of NFL Draft weekend while I was painting outside. A caller to the Gresh and Zo show suggested that the Pats may have drafted the two RBs with an eye toward moving them to the more needed OLB position. I almost fell off my ladder.

Uh-oh. Tony just announced he is officially at war with all those anonymous internet snipers who insist on calling him a weenie. With a few specific SoSH mentions thrown included in his diatribe.

Nice that I can tune in for 5 minutes at the end of the workday and be reminded of why I stopped listening in the first place.

I doubt he's reading this stuff himself. I bet some intern came across one of us making fun of the way his mom dresses him and promptly brought it to the dipshit's attention. It's easy pickings for a guy like him - he can rant and rave about the internet bullies in their moms' basements, all while blowing Felger every minute.
