Italian triangles done now as England’s bus parking breaks up. I think italy’s overcorrected now to the long ball.

f edit: the bus has been reparked

Should that have been a red? A horsecollar in soccer to prevent a breakaway...would have been harsh but not unearned.
Probably would have gone to VAR and turned into a free kick for Italy for the handball.

Edit: not being snarky. That’s how much VAR can fuck things up.

Outside of the first 10 minutes, this has basically been all Italy. It's nuts that's it is going to extras, this is Eng-Den all over again.

Yeah, never a red despite its heavy cynicism and violent result. I'd like to see how England would have looked if Saka did get away from Chiellini, how close is it to a clear goal-scroing opportunity?
There were at least two other defenders sitting in the middle of the field....not at all?

It wasn't endangering the player, and he wasn't denying a goal-scoring opportunity. Never red.
I mean I am fine with it being a yellow, but it did both of the things you said it did not.

Getting choked and pulled backwards by your shirt is very dangerous and if he does not grab him he is one on one with the keeper.

England need to make subs. Their depth is a big advantage, they need to use it. Bring on fresh legs!
