I’m sick. This was so infuriating. I just cannot comprehend how a team can play as poorly as they did in a clinching game.
Monty should have never changed up the lines after they totally dominated in TOR. Something about fixing things that aren't broken.
Followed up their best game of the series with their worst, and were still in it anyway, due to their goaltending.
As we should. Sadly.
It can't happen two years in a row, can it? To the Leafs, of all teams?
Amazing it’s like if you snoot the puck in the air it might go in. This team is soft when it comes to knocking teams out. amazing without Matthews and the Leafs still win
I have confidence that they can play well on the road and that the Toronto home crowd will turtle if behind. But still, come on guys.
They’ve done it pretty much the entire time I’ve been alive. I don’t understand how a team with such a loud fanbase that constantly hangs out the building loses so much on home ice.
I do wonder if the actual ice surface itself is a problem now.
Just as importantly, Coyle and McAvoy are watching Tavares, neither are bothering to look behind them.
And somehow that always favors the visiting team?
Edit: Honest question. Seems like if it's consistently bad the home team should be used to it, but maybe I'm missing something.
I feel like half the 82 OT losses have occurred in the last 20 years. Just sickening. They just can't put these teams away.

it was tough line change too- forwards hopped off as Toronto quickly advanced the puck. So gryz steps up (but can’t stay with Tavares) and has no back check help
I can name 1/2 dozen 3-1 series leads the Bruins have blown but to the best of my knowledge they’ve never come back from one.
They’ve come back from 0-2 down a few times but never 3-1.
Both even went to the same side of Sway, didn't look behind and weren't in position to defend properly. Like much of the game they were passengers.
Yeah totally agree, the changes made no fucking sense. If you're going to ride the hot goalie, same should apply for everything else. No need to fucking tinker

It's a strange coincidence, but last year Maurice started Lyon because he was the goalie that got the Panthers into the playoffs during the stretch run when Bobrovsky was having his usual March slump.
I'm honestly befuddled by what Keefe sees in Samsonov, who is an objectively bad goalie. Especially since the same analytics show that Woll can be an above average goalie, as we saw tonight, unfortunately.
I hope to dear god that Monty can get it done this series, because it sure looks like he has knack for making mediocre coaches look good.
Bruins played one of the worst games I can remember and they still came close to winning. I won't say I'm encouraged by it, but the good news is Toronto really wasn't much better than the worst version of the Bruins I can remember. Get it together, get back to playing Bruins hockey, and dominate 60 minutes to put the Leafs away.
