Your Celtics related posting sucks as usual.Wow - what luck, after a horrendous near choke.

They're not shooting 20% from 3 again. An average playoff performance from 3 by them and that's a 15-point win.If they play G7 like they played G6 they are going tolosewin by 20.
you need to live in the momentI just don’t feel the high because I just don’t see how they can actually win the whole thing when they can’t finish games they aren’t leading by more than 10 late. It’s a great win and at this point you have to like our chances and hope you can just shoot the ball well again but once again blowing a 10 point lead late really shakes me. Expect it’s not a popular opinion but it’s just how I feel about this team.
This team has a ton of spine. And we only find out because of the situations they put themselves in! That said, I think they'll come out rocking in Game 7. Heat won't turtle completely but they are bone tired and at some point the role players are not going to shoot 50+% from 3. Get the jump on them early and let the crowd do some work. Basically the Game 5 plan.I feel bad for the posters whose takeaway is "Man, they played bad tonight." We've been asking them to win a close game all playoffs and they pulled it out with good defense, effort, and triumphing in the face of adversity. They were on the road and forced a bunch of role players to step up while holding Adebayo and Butler to pedestrian shooting numbers.
We don't look at "Havlicek stole the ball!" as luck or a choke (they were up by 8 heading to the 4th in that game). Just let this sit in the annals of history as an amazing win and be glad that we got to witness it.
Fuck yes. Oh my god. We're going to game 7 at home with all of the momentum. This team is showing a ton of spine.
He can’t shoot at all it appears. If he went out there and PJ Tuckered it, that might help.Haven’t followed the coverage of Brogdon’s injury super closely - is there a chance he comes back for Game 7? For all his defensive and other issues they could use his three-point shooting.
With Jaylen in foul trouble and Grant being absolutely horrible, Brogdon's offense was sorely missed. It's lucky TL was able to give them more good minutes in the 2nd half, or it would've been uglier.Seems like Jaylen Brown is back. I think if he hadn’t gotten into foul trouble that would have been an easy win. I don’t like how much we seem to apparently be missing Brogdon a lot on the offensive end. Tatum was insane in the first half
Absolutely, although they may need to win the title (not just the series) for him to get that level of recognition. If they win G7, Derrick White will be mentioned in the same sentence as Dave Roberts and Malcolm Butler.
He's turning back into a pumpkin. He played like complete garbage tonight and just barreled into people all 4th qtr for a FT parade. Put this collapse on his legacy right next to all the playoff jimmy bullshit and pulling up for that 3 last year.Butler seems very weird these last few press conferences.
Probably aware his legacy is about to be on the line, probably not something he expected after the run Miami has had.Butler seems very weird these last few press conferences.
Agree on both, but also....Jimmy Butler and Bam aren't shooting 5-21 and 4-16, respectively, again either. They're not shooting 20% from 3 again. An average playoff performance from 3 by them and that's a 15-point win.
Tatum isn't scoring, what, 4 points in the entire second half, again.
It just seems like very fake Buddhist to me or something, I don’t know, opposing team, maybe I’m being harsh.Probably aware his legacy is about to be on the line, probably not something he expected after the run Miami has had.
Definitely not THAT bad…but Jimmy and Bam both haven’t been good these last 3 games. They both look like they’re tiredAgree on both, but also....Jimmy Butler and Bam aren't shooting 5-21 and 4-16, respectively, again either.
It's a show, he's playing up to a character, but also... this team is loaded with guys who haven't really won before, he is trying to project calm and confidence. Also, he's very very much a weirdo.Butler seems very weird these last few press conferences.
He made some key plays down the stretch and had 8 AST. If they win this it's talked about much like Tatum's game 6 against PHI... guy can't buy a bucket but rebounds, passes, then turns it on late to seal the deal. He's turning back into a pumpkin. it’s a heartbreak loss for them, but they can also feel good about clawing back into it, hitting three super clutch free throws, and only losing on a buzzer beater putback. I think it would have been much worse for the Celtics to lose that one.The Heat, particularly Spo and Butler, are saying all of the right things after that loss…but it seems like they are trying to convince themselves.
Not only do you blow a 3-0 lead but you lose like that?! I just don’t think you can come back from that

true, but odds are good the Heat won't shoot 14/30 from 3... if both teams revert to the mean on shooting it's good for Boston, because of the math problem. That the Celtics were on the wrong end of it in a huge way and won... well usually that means you outplayed your opponent.Agree on both, but also....Jimmy Butler and Bam aren't shooting 5-21 and 4-16, respectively, again either.
AHEM @radsoxfanLOL. Al is 36, 2 years older than another former All-Star forward on the roster who definitely is washed.
I like Al too, he's a valuable piece on the team, but he sometimes looks pretty washed. It's OK to admit, but let's just hope we don't see that version in the next game.
https://official.nba.com/2022-23-nba-officiating-last-two-minute-reports/Does the nba do the last two minute report in the post season? Fascinated to know whether Butler should have been called for a double dribble. I think he gathers and loses the ball but have no idea how that is supposed to be called

No they didn’t. Mazz said in the press conference the primary option was Tatum but they doubled him. After breathing again, realizing they called the season saver play for Smart. Halfway down too.
Not sure how much of a double team he had but he was at half court with his momentum facing the wrong direction. A pass to him would've led to a pull up three five feet behind the line.No they didn’t. Mazz said in the press conference the primary option was Tatum but they doubled him.
Maybe. Didn’t seem like a particularly great play either way although I guess Smart getting up a shot very quickly ended up paying major dividends. Not sure how much of a double team he had but he was at half court with his momentum facing the wrong direction. Smart set the screen for Brown. Looked like the play was to him as opposed to Tatum who just coasts to half court. After Smart set the screen the pass could've gone to Brown (back to the basket) or Smart for three
That little time, all you're really looking for is a guy who can get the ball on the rim almost immediately and then you all crash.Maybe. Didn’t seem like a particularly great play either way although I guess Smart getting up a shot very quickly ended up paying major dividends.
It was the only reason he got a shot off.. he was trying to pull up and Al would have blocked a shot from there.. Al only got behind because the double dribble wasn't called and Butler was able to get ahead of him by two steps to get to the corner.Celts got a very good whistle (in the fourth especially), so don’t take this the wrong way. But Butler absolutely double dribbled on that go ahead 3 point attempt he was fouled on. Would have been criminal to lose on that garbage attempt after really controlling the game most of the night. Credit the Heat for battling back when their two stars didn’t have it, but despite the Celtics making some bad mistakes down the stretch , still felt like they deserved this game (in my biased view!)
Smart set a bad screen on Bam which is why he had to cut to the ball.. if he sets a real screen on Bam then Brown gets the ball with a pretty open look..or a drive to the basket. The other option would have been for Brown to pass to White for a wide open three on the side or in the corner.. because I'm pretty sure his man completely left him to force the pass away from Tatum.. which is why Strus was late behind White to get the rebound. Not sure how much of a double team he had but he was at half court with his momentum facing the wrong direction. Why can that be considered if you can’t actually challenge the violation itself?BTW on the L2M, I rewatched the replay a bunch, I think it's going to be listed as an error on the challenge. Based on clock they call Horford for the bump on the body not on the shot, but they gave Jimmy continuation.... reasonable so far.... except.... Jimmy double dribbles before he shoots. By rule that violation makes the continuation not valid. So just a foul on the floor, which should have been 2 FTs not 3.
because that's what the rules say, once they open up the review there is a list of things they can consider as well. Why can that be considered if you can’t actually challenge the violation itself?
He most definitely did double dribble. If the NBA wants to justify the foul call they can say that the foul was actually just before the double dribble (there is some contact right before Butler picks up the ball) but in that case they could only give him 2 shots - as that was before the shot. By giving Butler the 3 shots it seems to support the notion that they called the foul on his 3 pointer, but that means they completely missed the double dribble. Pretty horrific officiating and I’m not getting why they couldn’t have fixed their mistake when Mazz used his coach’s challenge..Celts got a very good whistle (in the fourth especially), so don’t take this the wrong way. Think bigger.Dream scenario: Win Game 7 and complete this comeback. I want to see Riley’s face when that happens. One last eff you.
In that case, shouldn't they just have waived off the shot all together and called it a double dribble? The double dribble was at 3.8, but they called the foul on the gather at 3.0. I don't see how it should have been 2 shots as called. They could have called a foul before the double dribble, but I think that contact was deemed to be marginal and was not the foul called.
Yeah they should have called it, but they didn't and the double dribble isn't reviewable. In that case, shouldn't they just have waived off the shot all together and called it a double dribble?
