Between here and everywhere.
I LOVE the idea of Hathaway on the 4th with Foligno and Frederic.

Really hope Orlov is in this deal too, and Frederic is going out as part of it.

Clifton back makes sense. He’s played himself into a nice payday at the end of the season and they won’t be able to afford him anyway. Leaves Reilly & Stralman as depth D.

Cliffy stings a bit, but he was gone anyway unless they fuck up and lose Pasta.

Orlov over Clifton is a big upgrade.

Hate to see him go, love the way he played - but yea, I’m not upset at this.
It would leave them with only 2 RHD if Cliffy goes. I don’t think he is in it but we’ll see.

Yeah I’m not crying over losing a 3rd pair defenseman who’s 27 and may be a 3/4 for a couple years if things break right. That’s not to disparage him but Orlov is much better.

Per Caps twitter, the Washington Capitals have acquired a 2023 first-round pick, 2025 second-round pick, 2024 third-round pick and forward Craig Smith from the Boston Bruins in exchange for defenseman Dmitry Orlov and forward Garnet Hathaway.

EDIT: Caps are retaining the maximum 50 percent of Orlov's salary cap hit of $5.1 million.

Hockey casual here. How good are these guys? Do Bruins have the juice to do anything more?

Orlov is a 2nd / 3rd pairing D and Hathaway is a heavy 4th liner that can score enough for a 4th liner.

80% of Hathaway’s zone starts we’re in the d zone. More or less the same the last two years as well.

Yeah, Orlov becomes their third best Dman (and very physical), and Hathaway is going to bring lots of physicality. Guys won't be getting steamrolled this playoff season!

No fucking way. What?

Edit: I HATE watching the Bruins play against Hathaway, and he is the perfect compliment to the rest of the 4th line.

McAvoy/Linholm/Carlo/Orlov/Clifton/Grz/Forbert is just gross, LOL.

Saw this comment on HFBoards and thought it was funny: "Orlov is on his 3rd team in 5 minutes. That’s a very red flag."
