He only seems to last a few starts between injuriesDamn. Whitlock hurt?
And pray for the fragile Paxton.we're basically at Bello and Paxton and pray for rain
I understand hoping he would be a starter because a number 3 starter is worth more than a lights out guy in the 6-8 innings. Whitlock couldn’t pitch back to back days as a reliever, so making him a starter made sense. Too bad he can’t stay healthy or consistent. The Sox have broken Whitlock. A lights-out reliever is now a questionable starter. So sad.
That doesn’t rhymewe're basically at Bello and Paxton and pray for rain
Hamilton strikes out at batting practice.0-2 pitch to Hamilton was a mistake but only fouled off
A lot of likable guys/good players on those Giants teams....Posey, Cain, Crawford, Belt, Bum, Lincecum, Bochy, etc. Sox have been even better.Yeah, I remember you singing the hell out of his praises back in the day. You wanted him on the Sox, if possible.
He might prove useful later today. That doesn’t rhyme
No news yet.So they decided to make Whitlock a reliever and this is just a bullpen start?
Not able to watch the game, any news on what actually happened?
Already on it. Wife is due tomorrow. So, Paxton going on paternity list, too?
Well, they’ve had trouble developing starters in general. ERod and now Bello are the only guys since Buchholz and Lester, right? And ERod was traded for.It seems like the Red Sox fail at the reliever to starter thing over the years with some quality arms. Paps, Bard, now Whitlock. Rinse and repeat every 5-10 years when they find a bullpen ace.
Of course...why can't we have nice things? What have we done?
Yeah, phew. We can relax.Eh, that’s usually nothing.
Good thing for you you can't hear me.It's tiresome when Flemming goes on with his hangdog diatribes with the injuries the Sox have had, as if no other team has had to deal with a rash of injuries. I get it, the Sox have had dealt with a lot, but his lamentations are exceedingly irksome today.
Unlike many, I have faith in Nicholas Pivetta.OK. We have retaken the lead but have no pitchers to hold it.
A pitcher doesn't really need his elbows anyway . . .Yeah, phew. We can relax.
We have Bernardino, at least for another inning. Given the situation, I push him a little, depending on how he feels.OK. We have retaken the lead but have no pitchers to hold it.
Bello and Pax, then try to relax?Paxton and Bello, then just Jell-o?
Given that Whitlock has already had Tommy John on that elbow, I think you can probably hope for is a flexor strain, which would put him on the I L for at least 10 days then you’re talking about a rehab stint… I think I just officially punt it on the season in terms of expecting anything good to come out of it. If he’s out for any length of time, I certainly hope they move Paxson at the deadline, because this season isn’t happening.
True. stretched thinner than the rotation. That doesn't rhyme
