Stroman argument. This version of Stroman would look good on the Red Sox
Ha, I was about to post something very similar. Just turned it back on and don’t like this one bit!Damn I went out to do grocery shopping and now WTF happened
Not with this version of the Sox defense. This version of Stroman would look good on the Red Sox
Losing happens. Giving up in the 4th by pitching a guy that should find a new profession happens way too often with the Sox manager. There's a lot of an intense anger today about a six-game win streak possibly coming to an end
Cora might leave him out there for 20 runs today.Looking at Scott’s major and minor league stats and trying to understand why he is in the majors.
nah. Grand slams are pretty hard to stop with infield defense. For those putting it mostly on Paxton: That inning should have been 2 runs at the most with competent infield D. Wong & Devers both messed up that other play too. You at least should have had a reasonable comeback chance.
I think Cora's given up on the game. You save Paxton's arm instead of making him take one for the team, as long as Scott can give you many innings.Hammer Kiké all you want, but that was a crap inning by Paxton. In fact, he’s out of the game? What?
Yeah, that's a good pointNot with this version of the Sox defense.
Its the needless fucking Cora bullshit that converts a maybe-win into a loss. There's a lot of an intense anger today about a six-game win streak possibly coming to an end
We gotta save you for the stretch run.Welp, I had a good run. 14-2 this season, barring a miracle comeback.
Assuming he’s DFA’d tomorrow anyways.Cora might leave him out there for 20 runs today.
Bought by Sox from the scratch & dent section.31 games and a career ERA over 10.
And his minor league stats stink too.
What’s the deal with this guy?
Meanwhile, Brasier has a 1.74 ERA for LA.Bought by Sox from the scratch & dent section.
He was available.31 games and a career ERA over 10.
And his minor league stats stink too.
What’s the deal with this guy?
Hey, it’s baseball. And it’s too early to go to bed, even for me.Anybody still here?
The only positive from Cora throwing in the towel was not pitching Paxton another couple innings. Is Paxton okay?
Are you talking about the SOSH posters or the SOX batters?Anybody still here?
Pretty much. The Keekay misplay didn't help, but Paxton still wasn't sharp. Combo of him having an off-day and the Red Sox due for a streak-breakerSo I wasn't able to watch the 3rd inning and Paxton looked good in the first two. Did he lose the zone or what? He hasn't had a start like this in a long time, maybe all year, but it looks like just one crap inning.
See you tomorrowI am going to take a nap and hopefully, the Sox will have a lead when I wake up.
Several innings of Jacques then sending him down & DFA'ing Scott to add Schreiber/Bleier makes sense.Rodriguez throws 10 pitches. 4 innings to go.
Bullpen is technically: Bernardino, Jaques, Murphy,Pivetta, Walter, Winckowski, Martin,Jansen.
You have to think Pivetta, Murphy, Walter, and Winckowski are going to be held for the bullpen games? Plus Winckowski and Bernardino pitched yesterday.
So Jaques? Then Walter? or Murphy?
Thanks. What was the misplay? A non-error error?Pretty much. The Keekay misplay didn't help, but Paxton still wasn't sharp. Combo of him having an off-day and the Red Sox due for a streak-breaker
Stroman is pretty much a top-5 NL pitcher. An ace by any measure. He's at 91 pitches though, and is ready to come out, but may have one more inning in him.Are you talking about the SOSH posters or the SOX batters?
Broke the wrong way on a ground, made the stop but had no where to go with the ball. He also, apparently, didn't catch Bellinger's slamThanks. What was the misplay? A non-error error?
And we all thought he was fixed at SS.Thanks. What was the misplay? A non-error error?
Hernandez also had a botched tag, and airmailed a ball on a tough double play.“I can say with confidence we turned the pitch a month ago,” manager Alex Cora told reporters at Wrigley Field before Saturday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, as seen on NESN’s pregame coverage. “He’s been playing really good shortstop for us for a month now. We move him around, but I’m very confident with him playing short. He found a few things that he was doing mechanically, and I think it’s paying off. I don’t have any issues with him playing shortstop (Saturday).”
If you're going to try to sneak out an inning of Scott, the right handed hitting 8th & 9th & 1st hitters seems like the correct place for it. Unfortunately he's not good enough for that.Stroman is pretty much a top-5 NL pitcher. An ace by any measure. He's at 91 pitches though, and is ready to come out, but may have one more inning in him.
I really don't get this game though.
If Cora was hoping to get at the Cubs in the later innings with a weak pitcher thrown in there to suck up some innings (5 down), why not Rodriguez first? Keep the score close and see if you get lucky with a kind of blitz of scoring. I mean, if you have to use Rodriguez anyway? (Because he knows Scott sucks and pitched last night.)
If punting, why not get a couple of more outs from Scott?
He didn't start running until he was at 1BHow is Devers not on 3rd?
Because he waited to make sure the ball stayed in the park before he decided to run?How is Devers not on 3rd?
He is literally, bar-none, the shittiest pitcher on roster, hands down. The Turner at 2B, Hernandez at SS, Scott to keep a tie game close but not punt. . .it's all too fucking cute.If you're going to try to sneak out an inning of Scott, the right handed hitting 8th & 9th & 1st hitters seems like the correct place for it. Unfortunately he's not good enough for that.
