I know like 20 people going to todays’s game - and only 2 are actual fans of a baseball team. Hope the Sox put on a show and make fans of all the rest.

Game 93
An 8 to 3 win, topping the Cubs.
5 homers over the wall (and shrubs,)
proved that we’re not just a bunch of schlubs,
and made up for all our All-Star snubs.
Our lineup looks great: starters and subs.
(Like TLC: We don’t want no scrubs.)
We’re improving in baseball’s three hubs:
Good pitching! Great hitting! Fewer flubs!
We’re putting the fear in other clubs,
smiling like dogs getting belly rubs,
looking as smooth as old Levi Stubbs,
locking games up like Crockett and Tubbs,
forsaking the ells, wracking up dubs.
Let’s win again and go hit the pubs!

The weather is absolutely perfect right now, but the forecast is pretty ominous. I already got caught in a Midwest thunderstorm once this week….

Wish us luck!

Do you mean Reyes? Just for positional flexibility, I'd prefer to keep him over, say, Arroyo
I mean Kiké because they're playing Pablo in CF to see if he can handle being the 5th or 6th outfielder when he replaces Kiké.

Of course, they probably actually played him there because Worcester is down in Jacksonville & the Portland IF was Blaze/Yorke/Mayer/Meidroth.

But I can dream, right?

Let the JTB boning streak continue.

Well he’ll bone you when you are all alone.
He’ll bone you when you are walkin' home.
He’ll bone you and then say you’re all brave,
He’ll bone you when you're sent down in your grave.

But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get boned!

Aplogies to Bob Dylan and our own LR75

I guess it's true that only 1 of Kiké's 15 errors this season has come in the last 30 days...

During that time he has 7 starts at SS, 5 at 2B & 3 in CF. In 5 of those games he played multiple positions. He also came in off the bench & played 2B once.

In terms of hitting, during that same time frame, he is 11-58 with 10 singles, 1 double & 1 walk (.190 BA, .203 OBP, .207 SLG, .410 OPS), with 13 strikeouts (22%).

It is time to move on.

Cora's just telling possible trade partners that Keekay's defensive woes at short are in the past.

do all our SP longtoss before a start? I don’t get here early that much. But Big Maple is throwing from 120+ in the outfield right now.

I haven't been to a Sox game in years, but went to all of the AA games here last year and the SP longtossed before basically every game.

At every MLB game I've gotten to early pitchers are throwing long toss. It all depends on where they are in the rotation as to who's throwing.

One of these days Duran is going to beat out a routine ground ball to the infield.

Enough the "iconic moments" crap.
Also, Jarren, why'd you go out of the zone when you could have walked and stolen second already?
Edit: ump's a chump.

What team is possibly going to pay whatever you have to ask to get Ohtani?
The prevailing "wisdom" puts the teams into two categories -- those who want to trade for him now, like the Dodgers or Yankees, with an eye toward signing him longterm; and those who don't mind shedding a few prospects, like the Rays, just for the half-season juice he'd give them.
If the Angels are series -- and that's a big IF -- someone will pony up

It's really the best move for them. He's not re-signing with the Angels to keep losing. It's almost impressive how much the Angels are able to suck while having two of the best players in history on their roster in Trout and Ohtani.

Duran is fast but the way he gets the doubles is rounding the bases better than anyone else. He has incredible running form and cuts the baseline to turn to second unlike anyone else in baseball.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
Paxton - such a dark horse coming into the season, picking up his ultra-affordable player's option to be here.

And I can't imagine them having stayed competitive without him.

Personally I think he looks goofy as hell when he runs, but it's undeniably an effective technique. He corners like he's on rails.
