I've seen enough of Kluber. Thought he was a decent depth signing when they needed warm bodies, but they don't need warm bodies anymore. Find a way to IL him or something. He can't pitch to MLB hitters anymore.

All fair points. I forgot about the QO, could have definitely extended one there. It just has turned out that Eovaldi would look great on this club right now, but it took a lot of things going a certain way to do that.
He’s either really good…or really bad. Kike is a difficult guy to figure out, his career is all over the place.
You already won the series in a long west coast swing, and had to use your best relievers in both games fairly heavily, so yes, this is a potential punt game. Whatever.
Like Sale did in his final season, Kluber fell apart towards the end of 2022 -- including a large velocity drop in the middle of the season. Signing him vs using it for anything would've made more sense -- much like Masterson's signing was super questionable and clearly nostalgia/intangible hiring.

The question is does the manager think the Sox offense can produce 4+ runs with Wacha as a starter, given how he's been throwing in this game.

As a PS, just use Kluber on a super short leash for the game.

Yeah, but at the same time the QO threat was always there, so the leverage existed for the kind of discount Texas got (2 years with a vested option). I agree, with hindsight, I would probably resign Eovaldi -- and the foresight is probably even money too.
Even with the QO, hard to say whether the added draft capital mattered that much for rebuilding the system vs. getting out from being sidelined on the international market (thanks Cherington) and failing to develop a pitching farm system (thanks Epstein).
Thank god Kluber gets lucky, this game could've been so much worse right now.

Ditto -- try to save the bullpen for games that you need. Kluber may not have many starts left, its fine to overuse him as long as he doesn't get too in the way.
I'd suggest releasing him but the Rays would probably sign him and turn him back into a good pitcher

I imagine he’d accept a trade rather than go to the pen. But not sure they’d be any demand, and perhaps he’d just bank on a release.
